Hello dearest readers,

I hope I didn't scare you with this title, but I received a message this morning from someone who's working for a writing platform called "Dreame". This is a legitimate writing app & website and a lot of people are publishing stories here too. The company is based in Singapore and via your inbox here, they try to recruit readers to place their stories on Dreame.

They do this by offering contracts. These contracts look legitimate and sound legitimate too, and I've read that they actually are legitimate as well. You'll get an offer like: 200$ for 3 books. But in the end, when your book doesn't get enough reads on Dreame, you will not earn that money/not as much money.

🚨 BUT MOST IMPORTANT TO KNOW: you lose the copyrights of the story and your story belongs to them as soon as you "sign" a contract 🚨

Today, I was approached by this:

I can understand that messages like these look very tempting

I can understand that messages like these look very tempting. I sadly don't have screenshots of the message which included the contract offer, but you can find an example on internet I think because more writers talked about this. There are more platforms who reach out to wattpad writers and will message you first like "I love that story!" to get interaction and your attention/sympathy.

In the end: it's your own choice if you want to go into something like this. But I advice you to not sign a contract or writer on their platform in this way. You will not earn money, you will loose your copyrights of the story. I don't know how many people are aware of this, but I want to "use my platform" now to share this and send out a warning.

Kindest regards,
