15. "I haven't seen you all day".

You were happy to get in bed on this rainy Saturday evening. It had been raining practically all day and you had been inside, bored with your phone and some Netflix playing in the background. You were waiting for Free Practice 3 and qualifying, however you were left disappointed when the practice was cancelled due to the bad weather. You had sent George a text to ask how the conditions were and if they were ready to qualify this afternoon, however the text didn't even hit the two marks on the side, indicating that your message was send, but it didn't reach George's phone. He probably didn't have a very good connection, which you could imagine in the Austrian mountains. The FIA did approve to continue the qualifying sessions and you finally had something to watch, even though Q1 was delayed by about half an hour. You were seated on the couch and watched the soaked track getting busier with the cars.

You were incredibly proud when George drove for P12 and it was an amazing result for him and the team, and that in such bad weather conditions. You were eager to speak to him via FaceTime tonight, as you hadn't seen him on your screen since last night. You waited patiently till he was finally back in his hotel room, his data network or hotel wifi was working again and the text you had send hours ago was delivered and read almost at the same time. You smiled when you saw the incoming FaceTime call popping up on your screen. "Hey, baby". His large grin showed up on your phone and your smile widened. "George, you did so well in qualy today". You immediately said, making him chuckle as he flopped himself down on the bed. "It was raining so much today, I was sure we just had to start like we finished in FP2". George continued. "I'm so happy to call you now, darling. I haven't seen you all day. My connection was the worst today". He added, causing the butterflies to flutter around in your stomach.

"I already guessed so, it's fine". You smiled. "I'll happily be watching you for another two hours tomorrow". You said. "I'm glad". George spoke, looking at you and the blanket that was curled up to your chin. "Were you about to go to sleep, love?". He asked and you nodded. "I just wanted to call you and maybe watch some Netflix and then head off to sleep". You explained. "I can see you're sleepy". George smiled, leaning his head on his hand. "What will you be doing tomorrow before the race?". He asked and you told him about your lazy weekened schedule that included nothing special. "I'll be happy to come back home to you in two weeks". George sighed. "Me too". You chuckled. "But it will be over before we know it". You said, a yawn following. "You should go to sleep, babe". George smiled at you through the phone. "My connection is probably better tomorrow, we can text before I have to get ready to race". He hummed and you nodded in agreement.

"Whenever you have time". You smiled, sinking further down the head of the bed to bury your head in the pillow. "I love you". George told you. "I love you too". You replied to him. "Goodnight, darling". You blew him a kiss and he caught it before you ended the call. He always made sure you went to bed with a smile when he wasn't able to spend the night with you.
