Third-Person POV:

Lyla honestly couldn't help but feel uneasy. Truly she didn't want to be stuck in the car with Luca for too long. She questioned why it was so awkward in her head considering the fact that they had gotten somewhat close. Lyla wasn't normally cluster phobic but she felt like she was suffocating in his cologne. The sound of his voice was so addicting to her as well. Personally her relationship with it was a hate and love it at the same time one. Mostly hate since he would always be a pain in her ass.

Luca on the other hand couldn't care less about her presence. Luca just wanted to go home and rest after such a stressful day of dealing with students like Lyla; the ones that didn't give a fuck and stressed him out to the point of wanting to just fail them and leave it at that.

"I won't make it in time for that." He said making Lylas face turn to him.

"I'll let you know." The call ended and Lyla undid her seatbelt and fully turned to him.

"Why are you a teacher?" His eyes met hers and Luca raised a brow at her surprised by her sudden interest. He fully turned to her after undoing his seatbelt locking their eyes together right after.

"Why the sudden curiosity?" He crossed his arms over his chest.

"We're stuck here so might as well."

"Fine. I like making a difference." He shrugged but she didn't quite believe it.

"Why do you teach at that school then? To feel like you're bettering their lives?"

"Maybe."

"Good luck with that, half of them hate you."

'Me included.' She thought to herself as he just eyed her in curiosity.

"Why don't you let your natural hair grow out?"

"Why would I? It's boring and basic." Something she's definitely not.

"Why did they send you to that school?" He asked her making her just eye him putting her poker face on.

"Petty theft and a car chase." She shrugged but he didn't believe it.

"Highly doubt that."

"Don't they give you files on everyone? Why not just read it?"

"I rather know the students by them and not what's written on a paper. Plus most of them were mistakes either way." He shrugged and she couldn't help but wish everyone would have that sense of thinking.

She wanted to know how he'll react if she told him the reason she was in that school; the real reason.

"You said you didn't have kids but what about that kid you were walking with in the mall?" His memories took him back to when he saw Lyla and her group of friends at the mall.

"Niece. You talk a lot." Luca said making her roll her eyes.

"Because the awkward silence was killing me."
