Noel had been awfully bitchy. He'd been in and out of the studio recording and figuring out what he was going to do during his upcoming radio broadcast. And he was helping his daughter Anais prep for her history GCSE a little bit. He had a full plate which led to his infamous grouchiness. That and he'd just gotten a hold of some article about Sara enjoying a recent trip to France with a few of her friends.

Valentine's Day was that weekend and I didn't expect anything to come of it. Noel made plans to go out with his BFF Russell Brand and leave me home alone. I didn't mind though. I'd find some way to entertain myself.

After Noel left, I went to the nearest corner shop. I bought a cake mix, icing, and whatever other ingredients I needed. When I got back to the flat, I quickly set about preparing it.

The cake was done in about an hour. I just finished icing it when there was a knock on the door...or pounding I should say.

"You know, we have a doorbell." I said to him as he stood on the mat.

"I know but I much prefer knockin'." He said as he pushed past me. "What 'ave ya done with our Noel? Kicked him out?"

"No." I replied. "He went out on his own accord."

"What with his other girlfriend?"

"Depends on who you ask." I told him.

He smirked a little. "So he's left ya at 'ome by yourself? What a prick!"

"Not really." I reasoned. "I made a cake. Look!" I took him over and showed it to him.

"Nice one!" He said with a smile. He looked up at the clock. "Let's go out, yeah? It's still early."

The idea was tempting. "Where?" I asked.

He shrugged. "Anywhere."

"Swansea?"

He chuckled. "If ya want to we can." He replied. "Need to pack a bag though."

"Eh, too much like work." I told him. "Let's just go out to dinner. Give me a minute and I'll get changed."

"Alright."

I took off to the guestroom and changed into a nice pair of jeans and shirt. I grabbed my coat and my wristlet (which was much less cumbersome than a purse) and headed back out to the front of the flat.

Liam stood at the door ready to go. He never took his coat off when he arrived a little earlier but he did have to put his shoes back on. And those were definitely things to notice.

"Nice shoes." I said as I looked at them.

"Thanks." He replied as he twisted his right foot a little to show them off.

"I don't know of many guys who'd have the stones to wear purple shoes and pull them off."

"Well I'm not most blokes, am I?" He said.

"Definitely not." I agreed. "Purple's my favorite color."

He smiled. "I've done good then, haven't I?"

I smiled in return. "Yes you have." I replied. "So where are you takin' me?"

"You'll see." He replied.

We ended up at a quiet, low-lit restaurant. There was a small stage up front where mostly acoustic sets were performed and lit candles on all of the tables.
