"Quit picking at it!" I ordered.
"But it's fuckin' burnin'!" Liam whined. "Where's that washcloth ya promised?"
"Right here." I laid it down on his left lower abdomen.
We'd just got back from the honeymoon and were chilling out on the couch in the living room. Liam had sunburn. His whole chest and stomach was covered in a light red hue. Not a terrible case but a certain section of it was bothering him pretty bad.
I pressed the cool rag down on his skin making him hold his breath for a few seconds before letting out a slow sigh.
Just then, my phone rang.
"Hello?" I said into the receiver.
"Alright, Jules!"
"Alright, Tommo."
Liam perked his head up just a bit. "Blue?"
I held up my finger to tell him to wait a second.
"So I'm guessin' you heard about my acoustic tour comin' up." Tom continued.
"Yeah." I replied. "I seen it on Facebook."
"Well, if you'd like I could get ya tickets."
"Blue!"
I looked at him and held up my hand again.
He tutted and shook his head.
"I appreciate it." I told Tom. "But I don't know what I'm gonna be getting into come June."
"No matter." He replied. "I'm actually comin' down London tonight for a little pre-tour gig and I was wonderin'-"
"Blue?" Liam interrupted once more. "Where's the cream?"
I twisted my face in confusion. "Hang on a sec." I said into the phone. I pulled it away from my mouth a bit and turned to Liam. "What cream?"
"The cream that's supposed to make it feel better! Take away the burnin' and that. And the itchin'. It fuckin' itches now!" He started scratching below his belly button.
"Don't mess with it!" I barked grabbing at his hand. I turned back to the phone. "Yeah. I don't know. I appreciate the invite but I don't know if I'll be able to make it."
"Well, see what you can do." Tom said. "I'll put your name down on the list so it's there if you'll be."
I smiled. "Thanks."
I hung up the phone and looked at Liam.
"What?" He asked curiously looking back at me.
"Do you wanna go to a gig tonight?"
It was our first public appearance since the wedding. The media had things to say about it of course as well as our honeymoon. Pictures and articles came up online faster than I had time to process it all. They didn't bug us though and kept their distance. I didn't even notice them take our picture until my sister texted screen shots of them to me.
I told Liam no Twitter on holiday. He shot back with no Jet on holiday either. I obliged, for the most part, checking occasionally just to see if any videos or pictures came up from their concerts. There were only a few and they were limited mostly to Instagram. Luckily for Our Kid, that was one form of social media I couldn't be arsed for.
