Okay, so this isn't really a story as much as I hoped it would be. I wanted to write a narrative based on it but couldn't find the inspiration to do so, so this will read more like an author's note instead.
I had a dream the other night that Gerry Cinnamon and Jules had been friends since high school and they'd recently reconnected. Gerry was doing what he could to talk to Jules about her issues with Tom Clarke.
In the dream, I was actually Jules but since I live vicariously through her, it makes sense. Her name was actually inspired by what the only guy in my grad school class called me because he thought that was my name. Addie's name doesn't have a background story like that though. Hers was just the first I could come up with for her story and I've found it's been kind of difficult coming up with character names at times.
Later on that night, I had another dream where it was winter time and I was on a school bus with a couple of users from here on Wattpad. They were sat in front of me talking and I was trying hard not to be too much of a dork while trying to get them to notice me.
After I got off the bus, I was home and noticed someone had dropped off chickens in my chicken coop. I've never had that happen in real life. There's only been cats dropped off at my house like the three my fiancé and I recently acquired. But then again, one of our other cats who showed up last year was probably a drop off. Then she had a kitten who eventually also had kittens and now we've got a real pride in our barn. Honestly, you go in there and it looks like the inside of Pride Rock. But that's okay. They're good hunters hopefully keeping the mice, rats, chipmunks, and other rodents under control.
One of the drop off birds in the dream was a rooster and it killed one of my Turken roosters. It was a slow death and very upsetting.
Well, that got dark pretty quickly and probably doesn't make much sense. But my dreams are usually pretty far out there. I have a recurring one where I'm back in grad school or even high school and I'm failing at least one classes because I'm putting off doing the work. That has to be some sort of symbolism for my procrastination in real life.
A few days before I had this dream, I actually managed to write a story inspired by another dream I had. It's posted in the Madferit short stories so please feel free to check it out if you'd like and thank you so much if you do!
I was going to post this in Happily Boered but since I haven't gotten around to doing that, I'll post it here instead:
I GOT SOME CHICKENS!
The rooster we had passed away (the chickens me and my fiancé inherited from my parents after they moved are ancient) leaving two hens behind. My dad suggested getting new birds in case one of the old girls dies and leaves the other one by herself. One of the local livestock auctions is still doing their sales online so I joined their website and ended up buying all but one bird I bid on.
