I had a couple days left before I started my new job as Liam's assistant. It was probably the first time I wasn't nervous to start a job.

Noel was in the middle of his tour – in Austria at that point I think. We talked as often as we could, both of us saying how much we missed each other.

He had no idea I was staying with his brother. Liam and I were practically inseparable at that point so I suppose it made sense I stayed with him. His flat felt more and more like home as time went on.

"What's all this?" I asked pointing at a bag of clothes sitting on the floor in the living room.

"Me dry cleaning." Liam replied from the couch. "Needs sent out."

"Do you want me to take it for you?"

"Nah. I can't have ya doin' that."

"But I'm your assistant." I reminded him.

He smirked a little. "You are, yeah." He agreed. "But I can't have ya runnin' errands for me. That's not what you're for."

            "Then what am I for?"

"If you'd dump Noel you'd find out."

I shook my head. "I'm not dumping Noel." I said.

"Why the fuck not?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows. "It's obvious ya don't wanna be with him. If ya did, you wouldn't-"

            "Liam."

He sighed. "How we gonna make this work? You're not s'posed to mix business with pleasure."

"Whoa!" I exclaimed. "I didn't fuck you for this job-"

"That's not what I meant!" He cut me off. "But how the fuck d'ya think it's gonna look? People are gonna know summat's up, Jules."

"Not unless someone tells them." I remained calm. "We've kept things quiet so far and me working for you won't make it any different."

"But what if I want it to be different? I'm tired of hidin', Blue. I don't like us sneakin' around."

My heart skipped a beat. Did he mean what I hoped he meant? "I'm with Noel." I said firmly.

"Yeah." He said softly as he looked down at the floor. "Right."

I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything.

"You should be with me." He went on. "Ya pretty much already are. Ya ain't been back to Noel's since he left. Ya refused to go on tour with 'im even though he begged ya too. And now you wanna be my assistant. Face the music, Jules. You know what you really want."

"Yeah." I replied. "I want to take your clothes to the dry cleaner's for you." I nodded at the bag. "It's a nice day. I don't mind the walk."

"Right well as my assistant, you can assist me in runnin' 'em to the cleaner's." He replied. "I'm not havin' ya go by yourself."

"Alright fine." I grabbed the bag.

He took it from me with a smirk. "And since there's only one bag, that means me other hand is free to hold yours."
