School went by smoothly but definitely kept me busy. And because I had a lot of schoolwork to do, I had no plans to go back to London any time soon.I didn't hear much from Liam other than when he could get a chance to use someone's phone or one of the phones at Pretty Green headquarters. Noel called and texted me a few times to make sure I was okay.
Liam hounded me about coming to visit but I held him off by telling him to just focus on Pretty Green and not worry about me. He accepted this but definitely not easily.
Lauren and I became really close and I became integrated into her group of friends...which included Fin.
"Alright, Jules?" Fin said as he came up to me when he saw me in the library.
"Alright." I replied.
"It's a nice day today." He went on. "Fancy a trip to Piccadilly Gardens?"
"Sure."
The Gardens were buzzing with people sitting around but it didn't take us long to find a place to sit on the grass.
Our plan was to study in the sunshine but of course we got distracted by talking.
"So how ya like Manchester?" Fin asked.
"I really like it. I've loved it since the first time I came here." I replied.
"Ya've been here before?"
"Yeah. Last summer for the Stone Roses' concert at the Etihad."
"Oh cool. I bet that was awesome."
"Oh yeah it was." I thought back to standing at the side of the stage and Ian winking at me.
"Did you go back to the States afterwards then?" He asked.
"Oh no. I lived in London for a bit." I told him. "I worked as a nanny for some people."
"Oh that's cool."
"Yeah. The kids were real sweethearts. I miss them." I really did miss Sonny and Donovan. It felt like forever since the last time I saw them.
We chit chatted during study breaks and spent the rest of the afternoon out in the sun.
Lauren was home when I got back to the flat. "Hiya!" She greeted me.
"Hey." I replied.
I went to join her on the couch where she was watching some rerun of The Inbetweeners.
"So how's Fin?" She asked with a grin before popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth. "You lot were out pretty late."
"We were studying." I informed her. "And he's good."
"I bet he is." She said with a slight giggle.
I just rolled my eyes and turned to watch the goofy boys on TV.
"We're all going to the match tomorrow, just so you know." She said as we gazed at Simon Bird.
"We?" I asked looking at her.
"Yeah. Me, you, Jez, and Fin." She replied. "Probably go to the pub afterwards or summat."
"Okay." I was excited to go to another football match.
