"Ya sure you'll be alright here by yourself?" Liam asked with just a hint of concern in his lovely blue eyes. "You can come with me if ya want.""I know but that's okay." I assured him. "Thanks though."
"I won't be gone long. I'll tell 'em I can't stay too long. They'll have to fuckin' deal with it. I'm their boss after all. I'm-"
"Liam." I tried to keep him from getting worked up. "It'll be fine. There's no need for you to hurry on my account."
"Yes there is!" He argued.
"No there isn't! Now, go do what you gotta do and have done with it."
He sighed. "Alright."
While Liam was off taking caring of business at Pretty Green, I decided to do him a favor and pick up around the flat. It was already pretty well clean but there were some dishes in the sink and some laundry to do, so I set to work.
I was in the middle of loading the washing machine when the doorbell rang.
I went to the door and my heart skipped a beat when I looked through the door viewer and saw who was standing outside.
"Jules?" He said with a look of confusion spread across angelic face. "What are you doin' answerin' Liam's door? Shouldn't you be at Noel's?"
"I was." I told him. "But Liam asked me to come over." I suppose that wasn't a total lie.
"Oh. Is Liam 'round?"
"No he's not. He had to go do something at Pretty Green. Should be back in a little while though."
"D'ya mind if I stay here and wait for him?" He asked.
"Of course not!" I smiled. "Come on in!"
He followed me inside and gazed around the front room. "Cleaner than the last time I was here." He remarked.
I smiled to myself. Not that I was giving myself credit for my work or anything. A statement like that made me wonder though. What did Liam live like before I came along?
He wasn't slobby like one might expect. His flat was always spotless anytime I was there and he didn't have a cleaner. And if he knew I was coming for a visit, he always made sure the place was even more immaculate than it already was.
"Would you like some tea?" I offered my guest. I called him "my guest" because I freaking could. It was all I could do to keep my cool around him and I was definitely going to get something out of it.
"So why'd you stay in London?" He asked as we sat on the couch drinking tea. "I thought Noel wanted you to go with him on tour?"
"He did but I didn't wanna go." I replied. "I told him I'd tag along when the band's back in the UK."
"Ah." He said before taking a sip from his cup. "So any big plans for St. Patrick's Day? Heard you were Irish."
"Not as Irish as some people." I could still picture Noel glaring at me when I tried to say different. "But I don't know. Don't have any plans yet."
"Wanna make some? A group of us are goin' out tonight. That's why I stopped here. Figured Liam'd wanna join in. And now you're here I may as well extend the invitation."
