I pointed the lens of my camera at the sky and zoomed in on a group of birds. They were flying towards the horizon in a large group. The sun slowly began to make its way down and made way for the evening. A soft summer breeze made it attractive to go out for an evening of birdwatching.

When you work in the army it's important to have a hobby. The long days and the many dead around you do not always make it pleasant to do the job. Like my father and grandfather before me, I too went into the army to serve my country and help people. I often hold on to that. Otherwise it would drive me up walls.

I sat up and looked through the photo's I had made. I was a little disappointed. I had hoped to see something more exciting. The birds I had seen so far, weren't extremely special. I sighed and slid off the hood of my car to drive to another spot. The area is for me well known and even in darkness, I still will be able to find my way home.

Around 11 PM, I drove back to base and parked the car. It was oddly quiet for a military base. Usually people are high on guard but the danger as decreased lately. The waiters were still out there, guarding the gate but other then that, it was peaceful and people didn't seem to worry about a possible attack.

I took a few turns, heading back to my barrack but stopped in my tracks. Tilling my gaze to the sky, I saw a group of birds. It was too dark to tell what species but it was enough for me to check it out. I passed my barrack and headed towards the fence where I sat down and looked through my binoculars. I sighed agitated. There aren't many lights here. If we had, it would track too much attention and there's a greater danger of an attack from our enemies.

I sat back and stopped trying to figure out what species it was. Instead, I watched the silhouettes. After ten minutes I got up and headed back towards my barracks where I changed my shirt for a clean one. As I was making myself ready for the night, I saw something from the corner of my eyes. I couldn't tell what it was, it was too dark for that. I turned my head towards the window, trying to figure it out but it was already too late. Whatever it was, it crashed through the window and came to a stop.

I had jumped out of the way and was frozen. Usually not a good thing for a soldier, but I was too shocked to move. So many thoughts flew through my mind. What on earth just happened? What is this thing? Is this an attack? Maybe a bomb from some kind? I snapped back to reality as the object uttered a whimper. It's not a bomb.

I crouched down and stared into two bright green orbs. They seemed to glow. I assumed it was a she by the looks of it. Very sleek and slender build... I just didn't truly understand what she was. If it was indeed a she. A robot of some kind?

'Y-you're okay?'

'I am fine...'
Yup, definitely a she. The bird looking robot sat up. 'What are you?' I decided to ask and skip the whole introduction. 'I am part of the maximals. I am a cybertronian from the planet Cybertron. Rhinox told me about Decepticon activity. Laserbeak and Buzzsaw chased me and I crashed here,' she said. 'Maximals? Uhm... right.' I got up. 'Wait, where are you going?' She asked. 'Getting some air.'

The female got up. 'You don't believe me, do you?'
'It just sounds a little shady and suspicious.' She folded her wings on her back and crossed her arms. Not a girl I would like to mess with her. 'You think I came here freely to attack your base?' She asked in a 'duh' tone. 'I don't know. Aliens?' I snorted and walked outside. 'Hold on a bloody second.' She chased me. I rolled my eyes and turned around. Gosh she's tall. 'You're really a go-getter, aren't you?' I mocked. She gave me a look. 'I need your help.'

'My help? You have luckily I haven't informed my superiors about you already,' I said. She snorted insulted. 'Can I stay here for the night?' She asked. 'I don't think that's a good idea. Okay, you should go back to where you came from. Cybertron? Isn't Rhinox waiting for you?' I asked and waved her off. 'Humans are weird.'

'No, you are weird. I have already had a hell of a day and now you came crashing into my barrack,' I said. 'I didn't intend too...' she snapped. We stared each other for some time. 'One night is all I ask,' she said. I sighed and rubbed my forehead. 'Fine... fine but you leave in the morning,' I said and passed her, heading back to my barracks.

The next morning, she was watching me. Not only that, she was sitting right beside me. 'What are you doing?' I sighed. 'Watching you recharge,' she replied. I moved away from her. 'I have never been this up close to a human male before,' she added and reached for my chest, moving her hand over my toned chest and six-pack. She studied every detail of my body. Uncomfortably, I freed myself and got up. 'You better be going on. Before someone comes down here and sees you,' I said.

She gave a small, hesitant nod. 'Alright.' She walked over to the entrance of the barrack but turned to look at me one more time before she disappeared. I still hadn't really processed what had happened. It felt like a bad dream.

As a couple of weeks passed, I forgot about the incident and was back watching birds. I was caught off guard by a loud thud behind me and a shadow falling upon me. I turned my head. 'It's you again,' I said. 'What's your name?' She asked. '(Y/n) (L/n),' I introduced. 'Airazor. I realized we never originally met,' she said and came closer. 'I got permission to come down here and visit you,' she added. 'Oh, really.' I sat up. In day light she was even prettier. 'I was thinking. We could be friends... maybe we didn't start off on the right foot but... I kept thinking about you,' she said honestly. I flashed her a smile. 'Really?' She looked away in embarrassment. I chuckled and got up. 'Okay, why not.'

Airazor and I became soon best friends and started dating.  A year later, we married. She became a huge asset for our team. She's one special birdy.
