Your boyfriend, Bucky, is over at your place. The two of you are watching a movie.
"Its getting late.." he yawns.
You sigh, playing with his fingers. "You could just stay here tonight.."
Bucky tenses up. He knows that means you will sleep in the same bed, and he's not ready for that.
Not that he's scared. But he doesn't want to hurt you.
Most women sleep on the left side of the bed. The men on the right.
He hates it. He's scared that he'll hurt you with the thing attached to him. Something that he's not used to yet.
"Only if you sleep on the right side," he tells you.
"Why is that?"
"You're further away from my arm.."
You laugh. "I'm not scared of it, you know. It's part of you, whether we like it or not. And I love you the same."
"You may not be scared of it, but something about it terrifies me. I just want you to be safe, doll."
You stand up from the couch, reaching your hand out for him to grab.
"Let's go to bed," you smile. "I'm tired... and I guess I'll sleep on the right side..."
