Entry 802
Friday 7th December 2018It's been a rather emotional day. Mum's back home, Blade made his public announcement, everyone's found out about what happened with Catherine, and we all have mixed views on the new safety procedures. One god thing is that I am no longer feeling ill. All this false rape stuff and Catherine drama is no longer on mind. That, couples with a good night's sleep has made me feel a lot better.
Ash, Mia and I were in the loving room looking up at the clock waiting for it to turn 11am which was when Blade was due to make his announcement. On the stroke of 11, the announcement was made. Ash and Mia were at on the edge of the sofa in anticipation, waiting to see what Blade was going to say. "Ladies and gentlemen of The Isle of Wight," he announced, "This is Commander Jon Blade; head of safety and security at the Global Response to International Disaster. Some of you may be aware that a number of people have recently been reported as missing; Baz Jones, Jez Martin, Keith Moor, Larry Mortimer, Jase Rennison, Katie Shortman and Lynn Deakin were all known or suspected to be missing. It is with great sadness that I must report that on the evening of Thursday 5th December GRID security personnel discovered the dismembered the body parts of Baz Jones, Jez Martin, Keith Moor, Larry Mortimer and Katie Shortman at Flat 15 inside the key side apartment buildings in Cowes. Lynne Deakin sustained injuries but she is alive and is currently in St Mary's Hospital. Investigations and witness statements highlight that Catherine Rennison had assaulted the deceased, kidnapped them and taken them to her flat where she proceed to kill them and feed their body parts to her infected husband Jase Rennison, who she had chained up in her en-suite bathroom. Jase died some time ago and returned to life as an infected. Rather than repot this, Catherine Rennison chained her infected husband up in the bathroom and thought that by feeding him flesh this would keep him alive in the hope that one day a potential antidote could cure him. Catherine had recently falsely accused Luke Warm of rape and he and his friend TJ Hughes had gone to visit her to discuss this issue. Upon arriving at the flat they discovered an infected Jase Rennison, the body parts of the deceased and Lynne Deakin; Luke's own Mother chained up in the bathroom. Luke killed Jase and whilst he released his mother Catherine, cradling the body of her dead husband also became infected. It is believed she purposely introduced some of Jase's infected blood into her own blood stream – we're not sure how – but it's believed she did this so she could die and be with her husband. Whilst this series of events is of course tragic there is no need to worry. There is no current threat, the infected have been disposed of and for those of you who are interested a memorial service for the deceased will be held tomorrow in Cowes at midday. These events have however highlighted that we can no longer rely on trust to ensure safety. As you all know if an islander becomes seriously ill or develops a life threatening, they are required to inform GRID personnel who will monitor the situation and consider putting the person in quarantine. Recent developments have shown that system is not full proof and can be abused and ignored. In order to keep this island a safe place and infected free the following protocol is being introduced with immediate effect; All islanders will be required to report to a reporting station before 12pm every day. Later this afternoon all residents will be posted information about the new procedure and you'll be informed of where your local reporting station is. If islanders are unaccounted for, GRID personnel will quickly respond, attend the registered address in file and establish why the resident did not report. Anyone who persistently refuses to or forgets to report to a report station may be imprisoned. Those living in the more remote parts of the island will be required to move to live in more populated areas. I appreciate that some of you may be inconvenienced by this new procedure but it is essential to maintain the safety and security of the Island. If anyone has any questions there will be a Q&A session taking place tomorrow in Cowes, just before the memorial service. Please read your information packs that will be sent out later today and please follow this new procedure starting now. Thank you." Ash and Mia both looked at me and fired loads if questions at me. "What the f*ck!?" Ash loudly said. "Why didn't you tell us about all that?" asked Mia. "I couldn't," I said, "Blade made me and TJ promise." "You killed Catherine and her husband?" said Ash. "Yeah," I said, "I had to. You heard Blade. They were infected." "Catherine put some of her husband's infected blood inside her?" exclaimed Mia. "What can I say?" I said, "She was a crazy b*tch." "I don't believe all this!" exclaimed Mia, "She was kidnapping people and feeding them to her infected husband!?" "Yeah," I said, "Me and TJ were shocked too. Basically, I ended up having sex with Catherine whilst TJ was hiding in the wardrobe recording it." "Oh, for God's sake, Luke," said Ash, rolling his eyes. "Don't start judging," I said, "TJ's recording gave us the proof that I was innocent. Anyway, after we'd shagged each other the b*tch Catherine said she was going to tell people I forced myself on her. That's when TJ burst out of the wardrobe. Catherine lost it. She tried to kill me and TJ and then we found her husband and then we found Mum nearly dead, propped up against a bind bag full of dead body parts of the others. I killed Jase, me and TJ freed Mum and that's when I turned around and saw that Catherine was infected." "And you killed her?" asked Mia. "Of course, I did," I said. "What was it like?" asked Mia, "Was it weird?" "No," I said, "I was surprised at how easily it all came flooding back. Anyway, Blade and his guys turned up and the we were kept there for hours answering loads of questions." "You bl**dy idiot," said Ash, "You could have been killed, and now because of you we've got this pain in the arse safety protocol to follow." "Actually," I snapped, "I can look after myself. I've killed more infected than you've given me patronising put-downs, and if you hadn't have told Blade that me and TJ were going around to Catherine's he would never have found out about what went on." "Oh, get a grip, Luke," said TJ, "You wouldn't have been able to keep this a secret." "Maybe you should ne blaming Catherine, not me," I firmly said, "She's the one that went all psycho. She could have killed my Mum – your colleague." "Luke's right Ash," said Mia, "This is all Catherine's fault, not Luke's." "Yeah well everyone on the island has just heard Blade's announcement," said Ash, "So everyone's going to be round here soon firing a million one and questions at us."
