Entry 919
Wednesday 3rd April 2019Naomi here.
Ash, Mike and I were just sat with Luke when all of a sudden, a loud repetitive beeping noise was heard. The three of us gasped, looked up and saw the machines that Luke was hooked up to. This is where the beeping noise was emanating from. Lights on the machine were flashing red and one of the screens next to Luke's bed showed that he was flatlining.
Mike ran over to Luke and started shouting at him to wake up and not to die. Ash ran out of the room to get a Doctor, and I tried to stop Mike from shaking Luke and yelling in his face. Mike staretd crying and loudly shrieked that Luke was going to die and that we couldn't just stand there. I was also crying but I grabbed hold of Mike's shoulders, shouted at him, told him to stop it and said that losing it wasn't going to help Luke.
A few seconds later Ash returned with a Doctor and some other medical people who all ran into the room and hurried over to Luke. They pushed me, Mike and Ash out of the way, and then a nurse ushered us out of the room and down the corridor into the waiting area as the Doctors started doing something to Luke. I saw one of them get the defibrillator thing out. I think that mean his heart has stopped beating? Oh God, I'm so worried. I asked Mike if he had any insider knowledge what with him previously being a paramedic but he couldn't say anything. He was too upset.
I've radioed through to the others to let them know what's happening and I think they're on their way.
Oh God Luke, please don't die...
