Entry 902
Sunday 17th March 2019

We're out of the underground bunkers but we're in a lot of trouble! Some of us more than others. I found out how the infected man was released today, and after initially responding with shock and anger, I now just feel disappointed and rather tired and fed up. I think we really are going to lose this election.

The day started as it did yesterday; all of us waking up in the bunker, some of us having had better sleep than others, and being handed basic breakfast rations by the soldiers.  I had a chat with Roz who told me she's adamant that Kyle had nothing to do with breaking out the infected, me and Mum spent some time playing with Leo, and I had a good chat with Ash about how even thought it was grim under the bunker, we were all glad to be OK.

I also had a chat with what I now refer to as the inner sanctum; me, Naomi, Roz, Mike and Sci-Fi Cyn – the ones that knew about the infected being chained up in the community centre's disabled toilet. "I've spoken with Kyle," Roz, quietly told us all, making sure no one could overhear us, "Yes, he was at the park right next to the community centre the night it was broken into, and the infected was taken, but he had nothing to do with it." "Roz, open your eyes," I said, "You'd believe anything he told you." "No, I wouldn't," said a firm Roz, "I know he's not perfect but I also know he's not guilty of what you're accusing him of. I told you yesterday, I can tell when he's lying and he's not lying." "Yeah, well I don't think Kyle had anything to do with it either," said Naomi, "I've told you my money's on Natasha." "Yes, but if it was Natasha who took the infected, Jon and his team would have found him by now," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "Not if Natasha's hiding him somewhere," said Naomi, "We talked about this yesterday. Natasha could have some secret place that no one knows about where she's hiding the infected." "Or maybe the infected escaped from where ever it was taken to?" said Mike. "Look," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "None of us know where the infected man is. If Kyle did it to cause trouble or to make Luke look like a nob, he would want to SEE Luke looking like a nob. He'd want to see Luke being embarrassed but that isn't happening. He might be a teenage boy but I don't think he'd say nothing whilst we're all stuck down here and there's an infected running around up there, just to make Luke look incompetent. As for Natasha; if she did release the infected, I don't think she'd be willing to hide one infected man on the surface, if it meant all of us had to stay down here indefinitely. It just doesn't make any sense." "Maybe," said Roz, "Natasha released the infected from the community centre and took him back to hers but maybe he got free and now she's underground in one of the bunkers, embarrassed that her big escape plan went wrong and that it's caused all this sh*t." "Maybe," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "That sounds plausible, but Natasha wants us all to see that the infected can be restrained and controlled. Hiding them in a secret place whilst we're all down here won't help her cause or prove her point." "Do you have any other theories?" I asked. "Yes," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "Maybe one of us released the infected." There was a slight pause. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Sorry," I said, "You're suggesting one of us broke into the community centre to release that infected. Why would we do that?" "Yeah, it doesn't make any sense," said Roz, "We were the ones who brought the infected here. Why would we release him?" "Not all of us were involved in the discussion about bringing the infected here," said Sci-Fi Cyn, as she turned her head and looked at me with suspicion. This seriously p*ssed me off. "Hang on a minute," I angrily snapped, "Are you saying I released the infected? Is that what you're saying?" "That's not what I said," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "No, but you implied it," I snapped, "Why would I want to release the infected?" "You weren't exactly in agreement with the action that was taken," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "Neither were you!" I loudly snapped. "And you have been keen to put the blame on Kyle," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "Yeah, because I think he could have genuinely had something to do with it," I firmly said, "Not because of some weird elaborate blame game. Jesus Christ Cyn, I don't believe this. Do you really think, that I would break into the community centre and let the infected loose on the island all so I can get Kyle into trouble? You think I'd be happy for us all to be kept down here to make Kyle look bad? Have you forgotten everything we've been through? Christ, I thought you knew me. You don't know me at all do you?" "What are you lot whispering for?" snapped Trudy, suddenly appearing out of nowhere, "You did all this secret hush, hush chat yesterday. What's going on?" "Ask her," I snapped, pointing at Sci-Fi Cyn, "She's got all the answers to everything." I then stormed off and sat in the corner of the bunker feeling p*ssed off. I couldn't believe what Sci-Fu Cyn was implying. However, my anger was quickly replaced with shock and then even more anger when I found out how the infected did get out of the community centre.
