Wednesday 2nd January 2019

A quiet day with some lovely news from Blade.

Work was OK. Most people reported with only a couple of islanders not turning up.

It's Leo's birthday on 4th January. I can't believe he's going to be one. I've thought about having a kid's party. Sophie and Primark could come. I've spoken to Trudy and she's up for it. I'll go around and see Naomi tomorrow.

The first bit of good news is that the walkie talkies have been issued. Blade went to City One and collected a sh*t load of the devices, and got his GRID soldiers to issue one per household with an instruction booklet. We can communicate with people much more effectively and easily now. I suppose I could try and communicate with Naomi, but I think it might be better to talk face-to-face and she is on the other side of the island.

The other bit of good news is that Blade has arranged for some of us to go on a boat trip around the island. He came around and said that after everything that happened with Catherine, and with Tam in the garage, he thought some of us could do with a day out. He said he wanted us all to move forward positively and said that as a gesture of good will, he'd arranged for me and some of my friends/family to go on a boat ride on a fancy mini yacht around the island and slightly out into the Solent. What a lovely idea. He said we wouldn't be able to go too close to the mainland, and that there would be GRID soldiers with us but I think it's a great idea! I'm really looking forward to it. I was so happy with Blade's gesture that I felt a bit guilty for a) giving him such a hard time, and b) standing in front of him with a knife concealed on my person. Whilst I think the little boat trip is a lovely idea, I still think that we need to conceal weapons, regardless of what Blade thinks, but I do appreciate this gesture.

Mum spoke to me about what happened with her and TJ. She told me that TJ isn't her boyfriend and that he isn't my new daddy. "Mum, I'm not 12," I said, "I know that it was just sex with you and TJ but there are some things I don't need to know and certainly don't need to see." "You've always been prudish about sex," said Mum. "No, I haven't," I snapped, "I'm fine with sex." "Well you've always been weird and uncomfortable about sex as far as I'm concerned," said Mum. "That's because I've seen you in so many embarrassing sexual positions that no son should EVER see his Mother in," I said, "If I do have a problem with sex, which I don't, you're the one to blame. I'm still traumatised from when you made me take that big stiff plastic c*ck to show and tell at school, and convinced me it was He-Man's sword. Why can't you just be a normal Mum!?" "Oh sausage," said Mum, "You should know well enough to know I don't do normal. That's boring. That's not me. Look. What do you want me to do? Stop having sex?" "No," I said, "I know that's not reasonable, but does it have to be with TJ? I mean he's a d*ckhead. I don't want him to come downstairs and hear him talking about your messy meat-box as he puts it. I mean, come on!" "Sausage, I can't promise that I won't have sex with TJ again," said Mum, "But I promise I'll try to be a bit more discreet. How's that?" I wasn't happy, but it was a start. I need to try and put the image of TJ doing my Mum out of my head, but I am certain he's going to wind me up.

I can't wait to tell everyone about the boat trip! It will be nice to get some sea air!
