Entry 922
Saturday 6th April 2019

I'm alive! I'm actually alive! I ache all over and my head feels weird but I'm alive!

The last thing I remember is seeing Blade's jeep hurtling towards me and the next thing I remember is waking up in St. Mary's hospital. Apparently, I've been in a coma for just over a week. A WEEK! What is it with me losing time? If I'm not frozen in cryogenics, I'm in a bl**dy coma!

It took me a while to fully come round and when I did, the first thing I thought about was Leo. I was in the middle of the road and I was pushing Leo who was in his pushchair. I had my back to the jeep. I heard the engine rev, and when I turned around, I saw the jeep heading right at me. I gasped, quickly pushed Leo out of the way and like I say, the next thing I remember is waking up in hospital with Mike standing over me shouting and crying.

When I acclimatised I started panicking. Not only because I didn't know where I was or what had happened to me, but because I remembered pushing Leo out of the way. "LEO!" I yelled, "LEO! WHERE'S LEO!" Naomi, Sci-Fi Cyn and Mike were all in the room with me. The three of them gathered around my bed and calmed me down. "Luke, its OK," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "Leo's fine. He's with your Mum. He's absolutely fine." "I had to push him out of the way," I gasped, "I need to know he's alright." "Luke, he is alright," said Naomi, "He wasn't hurt. Blade turned up, got you to hospital and your Mum looked after Leo. God, we're so glad you're OK." Naomi went to hug me but Mike pushed past her, wrapped his arms around me and gave me a massive hug. "OH BABES!" he yelled. "OUCH!" I yelled. "Mike, don't squeeze him like that," said Naomi, "He's not a tube of toothpaste, he's just recovering from surgery after being hit by a jeep." "Oh, sorry babes," said Mike, as he pulled away. "I am still a bit sore," I said, "I ache all over." Naomi leaned in and gave me a kiss on my cheek. "We've all been so worried," she said, "We've been writing in your diary. Given you something to read when you're feeling better." "Good idea," I said, "I'll read it later."

I noticed that Naomi was acting a bit weird but to be honest I didn't focus on that as I had more important things on my mind; like my son Leo! "Luke, do you remember what happened to you?" asked Sci-Fi Cyn. "Well, he was hit by a jeep," said Mike. "I think Cyn means, WHO was driving the jeep," said Naomi. "Yeah," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "Who ran into you? Do you remember? Blade's going to be here soon and he's going to want to know?" "I don't remember," I said, "It's all a blur. Look, I just want to see Leo." "Your Mum's on her way with him," said Naomi, "God Luke, I'm so glad you're OK. I don't know what I'd have done if you'd have... Well. You know..." "Yeah..." I said. Mike looked confused. "If he'd have what?" he said. "Died, Mike!" I loudly said, "She's talking about if I'd have died." Oh," said Mike, "Well, if you remember who ploughed into you, you just let me know. I'll kill the f*cker. I'll hold their head under water for so long that by the time they resurface they'll have skin like one of those wrinkly dogs." "Lovely," I said. "I mean it," said Mike, "I'll do to them what they did to you but I'll do it a thousand times worse. I won't run them over in a jeep. I'll run them over in a f*cking tank. A big massive f*ck off tank and I won't just run them over once. I'll go back and forth fifty times until they're flattened into the road like one of those squashed pigeons you used to see ploughed into the middle of a motorway." "Mike," I said, interrupting him, "Can you get me something to eat?" "Chips?" asked Mike. I nodded. "I'll be right back, babes," said Mike. "I'll come with you," said Sci-Fi Cyn.

Mike and Sci-Fi Cyn left, leaving me with Naomi. She was still acting weird. "What's up with you?" I asked. "Me?" said Naomi, "What do you mean?" "You're acting weird," I said, "What's going on?" "Nothing," said Naomi, "I don't know what you mean? I'm just glad that you're OK." "Are you sure there's nothing you want to say?" I asked. "No, nothing," said Naomi, "Well. Maybe it can wait until after you're out of here." "Oh God," I said, "Do I need to be worried?" "No," said Naomi, "Definitely not. You just focus on getting back. This can wait. Seriously, it's not that important." "OK," I said, "Naomi, I can really do without any stress so whatever it is I really hope it CAN wait." "It can," said Naomi. She took hold of my hand and smiled. "I can't tell you how happy I am to see you're OK," she said. "Yeah, I'm quite relieved too," I said.

Later Mum turned up with Roz and Richard, but there was no Leo. "Oh, sausage," said Mum as she approached me and gathered around the bed with Roz and Richard, "I am so glad that you're not dead." "Me too," said Richard, "I hate funerals. I put that in your diary." "I won't kiss you," said Mum, "Because you look very contagious, and to be honest your skin looks rather diseased." "Where's Leo?" I firmly said. "Kyle's taken him out for a walk," said Mum. "For God's sake," I said, "Why didn't you wait until Kyle got back with Leo BEFORE coming here? I wanted to see Leo!" "I'll bring him tomorrow," said Mum, "Calm down. I just really wanted to see you. Mind you I expected you to look better than this. You look like someone just dug you up and plonked you in a hospital bed." "It's good to see you sitting up and talking," said Roz, "You know, all of this has affected Kyle a lot more than we realise. I just hope it means that you two can make up." "I was planning on doing that anyway," I said, "God Mum, I really wanted to see Leo." "Oh, shut up, I've just told you, I'll bring him tomorrow," said Mum. "So, didn't Kyle want to come?" I asked Roz. "Well, like I said," said Roz, "This whole thing has really got to him."

At that point TJ and Trudy walked in with Primark. "Alright Elizabeth!" TJ loudly said with a big grin on his face, "How you doing you big, flabby, little d*cked loser?" "F*ck me," Trudy said bluntly looking at my face, "You look like sh*t." "Oh great," I said, rolling my eyes, "The Samaritans are here." "So come on," said Trudy, "Now you're not dead and all that who ran you over?" "Trudy!" exclaimed Naomi. "Soz, Nicola but we all want to know," said Trudy, "I've got a bet going with my old work mate's brother's girlfriend's next-door neighbour's sister's Auntie's Zumba teacher. I've got ten credits saying Kyle did it." "Trudy, for God's sake!" said Naomi. "Come on," said Trudy, "You bunch of f*ckers are all thinking it but I'm the only one who's got the flaps to say it. Kyle ran Nanna down." "Trudy," said a firm Roz, "This is not the time or the place, and to be honest I'm getting pretty sick and tired of you having a go at Kyle." "Besides," said Naomi, "Luke can't remember who ran him over." "Ah, so that means it could have been Kyle," said Trudy. "Well, by that logic it means it could have been you," said Roz. "I don't know how to drive you dumb dyke," snapped Trudy. "Look, maybe Luke doesn't want to talk about this now," said Naomi, "Let's just sit and give him some support."

It was really nice to see everyone – even TJ and Trudy but I was gutted Mum didn't bring Leo. I mean, I know he's OK, but the last image I have of him in my mind is pushing him out of the way when I saw the jeep coming towards me. I really want to see him. I'm looking forward to Mum bringing him to see me tomorrow. Blade turned up and asked me what I remember about the incident and if I could remember seeing who was behind the wheel. I told him it was all a blur.

I'm not only looking forward to seeing Leo; I am also eager to see Kyle. I have lied to everyone. Kyle ran me over. He was the one behind the wheel of Blade's jeep. I was stood in the middle of the road, turned around when I heard the engine revving up and as clear as day, saw Kyle sat behind the wheel of Blade's jeep. With fury in his eyes and determination on his face, he gripped hold of the steering wheel, put his foot down and ploughed right into me. Just before the jeep violented smashed into me, I managed to push Leo out of the way and that's the last thing I remember. I can't even remember the car actually hitting me.

Part of me can kind of understand why Kyle wanted to run me over. He doesn't like me and I haven't exactly been the best father, but he could have killed me AND his brother Leo. As soon as I get out of here, I will be having a serious word with my eldest son. It's time all this sh*t was sorted.
