"Someone who bears zero trust in me could certainly never be called my wife"

The sentence escaped from Kirari's blue lips with such a calm, cruel fatality, like a whispered sentence from a judge. The words, delivered softly but with a force as intense as a thunderclap, stabbed into Sayaka's heart like daggers, fracturing it in ways she never knew possible. It was as though the world suddenly shifted ominously, as the ground beneath her seemed to shudder in shared agony while the wind rustled with coldness, the sky clouded with rain.

She cannot believe what she is hearing as she turns baffled, anxious and begins to breath heavily in surprise. Her lips quiver, her violet eyes cannot hold the pressure of Kirari's presence in her way, as the president remains leaned in towards her, Kirari's blonde hair brushing the sides of her earlobe, while her piericing blue eyes darken caliginously like the midst of the dark night.

Her presence put the lamb to the slaughter.

"I did think you would know better than to test me, Sayaka... but it appears my warnings have resonated only with deaf ears."

The words, though softly spoken, hung in the air like the tolling of a lone bell in a silent chapel. They dripped with an unspoken lament, a mournful melody that clashed with the reality of the quiet room. Kirari's voice, a once familiar symphony, was now a stark solo, reverberating with notes of disappointment and sorrow. As she spoke, she took a final, measured step towards Sayaka. The movement was unhurried, a predator's grace in the face of its prey. With each second that ticked away, the distance between them shrunk, until all that separated them was the thin, icy veneer of a rapidly disintegrating trust.

"..................."

They stood, body to body, shoulder to shoulder, a closeness that mocked the gaping chasm opening up between their souls. The echoes of her words ricocheted off the walls, wrapping around them, as though they were the only two souls existing in a world that was otherwise profoundly still. The silence was a punishing force, stretching out and pressing down upon them with an intensity that was almost palpable.

In the dim light, the shadows danced across Kirari's face, making her features appear both ethereal and threatening. The soft glow did little to dispel the darkness in her oceanic blue eyes, which looked at Sayaka with an inscrutable expression. It was a tableau of contradictions – closeness and distance, soft whispers and harsh realities, intimate touch and emotional isolation.

"......................................................"

The room seemed to shrink around them, the beige white walls closing in as the quiet finality of Kirari's words continued to echo. Their bodies may have been shoulder to shoulder, but their hearts were worlds apart, and the haunting silence served as a chilling reminder of the growing chasm between them.

Even though there was love, there was also distance. An indestructible void that could not be filled by the circumstances bestowed upon them, a chilling coldness that swept beneath their souls as neither one could understand the other.

"You're fired"

Kirari pronounces, the words echoing with a brutal finality in the sterile hush of the infirmary. The phrase, so simple and yet laden with the weight of a thousand unspoken implications, ripples through the silence like a pebble shattering the tranquility of an undisturbed pond.

"...W..what..?"

"N..no.. this.. this can't be..."

Sayaka's knees buckle as if the very strings that held her upright were cut, and she collapses onto the cold, hard floor like a fallen warrior. The words act like a poison arrow to her heart, draining the life from her face, replacing the vibrant hues of her spirit with the pallor of defeat. Her world spins, plunging into a well of darkness where only the echoes of those damning words exist as she collapses into utter depression. Suddenyl, tears breach her defenses and cascade down her cheeks in a silent rebellion against the unbearable pain. She crumbles, a heap of shattered dreams and broken promises. Her sobs fill the room, a heartbreaking symphony of loss and longing, a desperate plea to a world that has turned its back on her as she no longer comprehends the purpose of her existence.

"This.. must be some sort of mistake..."

She mumbles to herself, clasping her face with her hands as she wipes away her tears.

(She would be nothing without the president. The president had meaned everything to her, and to be fired by the very woman she loved, the woman she sought to marry was the last thing she had ever prepared before. Now, she looks back realizing why Kaeda had turned grey. His world was shattered, as was hers today)

She tries to grasp at the remnants of her disintegrating heart with her hand as she clenches her chest deeply, each shattered piece a testament to the pain that now consumed her. The realization of her dismissal – the irrevocable severance of the ties that had once bound her and Kirari – engulfs her, leaving her drowning in the raw magnitude of her despair, as she breaks down completely.

However, by the time Sayaka gathers herself enough to form any coherent response, to spit out words that might justify or counteract her dismissal, Kirari has already vanished. She has left behind only the ghost of her presence, and the infirmary door that now stands firmly shut, acting as the final punctuation mark on a chapter of their lives that has abruptly, and devastatingly, come to an end. It's a door that, for Sayaka, symbolizes more than a mere physical barrier. It's the closure of a world where she was intertwined with Kirari, a world that no longer exists. A door that closes with the cruel irony of ending not just her professional journey, but also the chapter of her true love.

"

"Kaichou...."

"How... could.. you...?"

She snaps.
