Mumei pov: Amelia has been targeted but for some reason I'm not thinking about that. My head hurts the further we go into the boundary it feels familiar....
I suddenly appeared in a place and I looked around everything is foggy and I can't see a thing
"Where are we?" Selen asked me as she appeared next to me
"Ah, we're dead," I told her.
Of course, my heart did stop, but why do I still feel so empty?
"My body feels so light," Selen told me.
"Yeah, of course it does. We don't have weight." I sighed
"You know, Mumei, I never got the chance to see Elira again or tell Pomu I love her," Selen said.
"The fact that we haven't just passed on yet means we have unfinished business, right?" I asked
"Usually," Selen said.
"What is my purpose then?" I asked
"You bitch..." a voice echoed in my head I clutched it in agony
"You okay?" Selen asked
"Y-yeah..." I told her
"You are a failure as a guardian," the voice said again.
I know I'm a failure as the guardian of civilization. I have no worth. Just let me pass on.
The fog began to clear. I sighed and began to walk towards the now visible gate.
"Wait Mumei!" Selen yelled
I pushed the gate open and was hit by light this was it I took a step forward but both my arms were grabbed and I was pulled back
"Mumei!" The two of them said
Reine, Subaru, you two are... I sighed
"Mumei, don't you dare go through that gate!" Reine yelled at me.
"Please you can't return if you do!" Subaru said
"They are faking their concern," the voice told me.
"I'm only" I told the two of them, and they gazed at me with worry.
"You are pale please tell us what's wrong!" Subaru told me
"Mumei, look inside yourself you know there is unfinished business something you want to say or so come on let's wait until we get a chance to get back!" Reine said
The two of them were adamant that we could go back there is a chance we would be saved by Kiara but....
"Why would she save you?" The voice asked me
I bit my lip and tried to pull away from those two to move on, but they pulled me into an embrace.
"I'm just a nameless vessel, so why!?" I asked them
"You are Nanashi Mumei!" Subaru said
"Are you worried about your self-worth? Don't be, you told me in a dream that you'd love me no matter what; I feel the same way about you as we all do, and are you just going to leave when Lui-nee will miss you!" Reine asked
"I-please let go" I sighed
"Tsk...Mumei, move on if you want, but just know I'm not going with you, and when I come back to life and you aren't there, I'll know you chicked out. Your afraid I'll beat you in a fight!" Selen said
"You will hurt all of them again," the voice said.
"I just let go." I told them one more time.
"Come on, Mumei!" Selen shouted, "Stop with the bullshit!" She said
"Selen, you need to just let me go," I told her.
Zeta will not be happy if you don't come back! Selen hissed
"Zeta doesn't need an unreliable senpai," I said.
"You idiot!" Selen yelled She flew over and decked me in the face, knocking me over.
I spit on the ground and saw blood so even the dead can bleed I stood up and walked over to Selen punching her in the stomach
"You're the idiot you can't control me!" I yelled
"Mumei, I told you that you can go if you want; I won't stop you!" Selen yelled
I ran over and pushed her to the ground and got on top of her "Shut up!" I yelled as I punched her repeatedly
Reine and Subaru looked at me and put their hands on me.
"Calm down, Mumei," Reine told me.
"I-am broken..." I told the three of them
"Mumei, do you want to leave Kiara and Lui behind?" Subaru asked
"Of course not..." I told them all.
"Stop lying," the voice said.
"Get out of my head!" I screamed in agony.
Reine dropped down and hugged me tightly
"Please, Mumei, don't worry, we are here for you, and trust me, all of us will always be here for you. I will make sure you want to be alone. You are my little sister. I want you to know I love you!" Reine said
"Mumei people care about you; don't just move on without questioning how those left will feel!" Subaru said
Lui and Kiara would be sad. Zeta and Kaela too Sana probably misses me and Kronii and Fauna will be distraught I can't leave them at the same time I'm just a vessel
"You think you are a vessel, but listen, you are my little sister!" Reine said
"You are mine too, and I won't let you think bad things about yourself!" Subaru said
"Wait, did you two just read my mind?" I asked
"No, of course not. We just know you deep down and we know you are worrying about everything." Reine said
"Everyone has their worries and self doubts but please let us help you!" Subaru said
Everyone has worries and self-doubt. I thought to myself, "Even so, they are reaching their hand out to me, even though I feel worthless; they keep defending me."
"You guys do you really think I can become my own person?" I asked
"You already are!" Reine said
"I am my own person." I asked myself out loud.
"You are Nanashi Mumei not Nameless!" Reine told me
I read her mind to see her true colors, but she didn't have any bad thoughts about me. She is trying to help me.
"Reine, Subaru "I love you both!" I yelled
The gate suddenly vanished
"I helped too!" Selen yelled
"Shut up moron..." I told her laughing a bit
I looked in the fog and something came out. It was the grim reaper. It flew towards me and swung its scythe. It wanted to harvest my soul.
My soul...
It hasn't been the same since then but I need to figure this out if it will be compromised or not
