[Non apocolyptic AU•15th Century AU: Sailing across the ocean blue, Captain Violet and First Mate Clementine scoure the world, discovering fame, fortune, & love.] [Idea for this AU comes from Lone_Wolf0154]

Violet's POV
Day 425 on the sea. First Mate Clementine♡ found us a new island to explore, south of the New World. I shall name the land "The Isle of Violentine". Although it is just me and Clem (as well as my loyal pup, Rosie) out here in the worldy seas, I am actually glad for this blessing. Something about her makes my heart skip a beat, butterflies in my stomach, all that. I must keep this under wraps, it is forbiddened love. I will arm myself and ready for search of the lands at dawn. God bless us and our journey.

I close my journal and places it on my shelf above my mattress-on-the-floor I call a bed. I sat back in my war torn chair from France. The golden framework with "King" engraved on the top. Royal red fabic stained with blood hand stitched into the magestic piece. I gripped the armrest as I carefully removed my eyepatch as well as my captain's hat. I looked up at the wooden ceiling of my room, gazing at every nook and cranny, staring until I memorize every ridge and mark it displayed.

"Captain Violet?," her soft voice spoke. I panicked and quickly turned away from my door.

"Enter," I spoke abruptly. Clementine entered. Against my fear, I turned to see her. Her long, dark leather coat hugged her body. Her crisp white shirt underneath, stained with blood and ink. Mostly blood. Her dark brown curly hair tucked away in her purple bandana cap. I was swooning over her. Her. It's always been Her!

"Captain, you're drooling again," she laughed. I wiped my face onto my coat sleeve. "Well then, we are nearing the island. Looks unhabited but better safe than sorry." She handed me my bloodied sword.

"I remember the day you made this for me," I chuckled. "Best sword fight I've ever had."

"Tell me the story," Clementine whinned like an infant. I rolled by eyes and motioned for her to sit on my bed.

"A week after we set sail from our royalties, we were captured by Spainsh pirates. They kept us hostage for 3 weeks. At night, when the guatds would be asleep in their rooms, you worked and worked to craft this sword. Steel, iron ore, gold, and brass for the handle. Finest sword I've ever had the chance to hold. After the crafting was done and the sword was sharpened, we overthrew the Spainsh men and killed them all, beheaded one of them to bring back to the King as a token of our loyalties, as well as their riches and foriegn spices and treasures." I look up from the floorboards to find her staring at me. I touch my face and realize I have forgotten to put on my eyepatch. I attempt to hide my eye socket, to no use as she was walking over to my desk.

"Here, let me clean it Captain." She tore off a piece of her shirt and poured a bit of whiskey on the rag. As she lightly dragged the rag across my skin, I tried my best to not hiss at the burning pain. "You never did say what happened to your eye." I stare at her as she finishes up caring to my wound.

"My eye is none of your concern. Finish up here and go tend to the sails. I want to be at land by dawn."

"Yes, Violet- I mean Captain."

I rolled my eye and looked out my window. Royal blue skies and a royal captain aboard her royal ship. Clementine wrapped clean bandages around my eye and silently left my quarters.

Maybe I was a bit harsh....no. I cannot fall in love with another woman...It is wrong...unjust...I need fresh air to think.

As I walk to the door, I hear her sweet voice.

"Oh Rosie. What am I to do? I think, I mean, I hope I am in love with her. But it feels wrong. If anyone found out, I would be beheaded by dawn!" Rosie whimpered and laid on the deck.

Standing there frozen, my face turns red. She is in love with me!

"I just want to admit it to her. Feelings will not be mutual, I can feel it in my gut. But it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." Rosie barked and howled as Clementine fed her for the evening. Her light footsteps approached my door. Panicking, I jump into bed. Her light knocks against my door as it creaks open.

"Vi- Captian Violet?" I sit up and look at her. Her slow strides to my bed, feels like an eternity. Her face look beautiful in the moon light, exposing her blushed cheeks and dialated eyes.

"What do you need?"

"You," she bluntly spoke. I smile and blush a little. "I- shit. Captain, I know it is wrong but I, I have feelings for you." I grabbed my sword from my bedside. "If you kill me for feeling this way, I understand. Just get it over with." She closed her eyes tightly, fearing she was mere seconds from meeting her maker. I kissed her soft, whiskey laced lips, causing both of us to blush even more.

"Captain?"

"Ever since you made this sword, I knew there was something about you. I could not think of much other than you. I love you, Clementine." She took my hands and intertwinded them with hers.

"I love you too, Violet."

A/N: Once again, thank you for all the reads! I love you all
