Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
But those who deal truthfully are His delight.
Proverbs 12:22
Be truthful in what you say. Good or bad is capable of coming out of your mouth; use good judgment. If one of your friends is wearing an ugly shirt, you don't have to tell them that it is ugly; but if asked, be polite but tell them your honest opinion.
Lying is tough; we are lied to all the time, e.g., the media and our elected leaders to name a few. And if we put our trust in someone; how do we know if they are lying? We don't, but God does.
I have always tried to be honest, and as a school teacher and coach, found out some people don't want honesty. It gets extremely hard at times. There are also many, many great people that appreciate the truth. I will try to be true to God, to myself, and use good judgment - others can think what they want. Tell God that you love Him.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
