Put God First

In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
     "Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying:  'This people says, "The time has not come, the time that the Lord's house should be built." ' "
     Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying,
     "Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?"
     Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts:
"Consider your ways!
     "You have sown much, and bring in little;
     You eat, but do not have enough;
     You drink, but you are not filled with       drink;
     You clothe yourselves, but no one is
warm;
     And he who earns wages,
     Earns wages to put into a bag with holes."
                          Haggai 1:1-6

     God is referring to the ruins of the first temple.  The people are being very selfish while God's house in lying in ruins.  They are trying to satisfy themselves first.  Oh, we will build God's temple eventually:  it doesn't work that way.
     You can only be successful in life if you put God first.  You can't try to work God into your schedule.  It's ironic, you only have a schedule because of God - He put you on the earth.  Tell God you love Him.

The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

     Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  Please read your Bible.
