Jezebel's Prophecy Fulfilled

12 1 0

So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, and she conceived and bore him a son.
Then the LORD said to him:

"Call his name Jezreel,
For in a little while
I will avenge the bloodshed of Jezreel
on the house of Jehu,
And bring an end to the kingdom of
the house of Israel.
It shall come to pass in that day
That I will break the bow of Israel in
the Valley of Jezreel."
Hosea 1:3-5

The name Hosea means salvation, and salvation means deliverance from sin and all its consequences. Jezreel means "God soweth," see, I'm learning. Any you ready for the strange, weird, I-don't-understand part? Let me write the next verses, and then we will talk.

And when he had gone in, he ate and drank. Then he said, "Go now, see to this accursed woman, and bury her, for she was a king's daughter."
So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.
Therefore they came back and told him. And he said, "This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 'On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;
'and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say, "Here lies Jezebel." ' "
2 Kings 9:34-37

Ok, let's go back to 1 Kings 21:23 where Elijah is talking to King Ahab Jezebel's husband. This is after Jezebel had Naboth stoned to death so Ahab could have Naboth's vineyard. The LORD told Elijah to tell King Ahab:

"And concerning Jezebel the LORD also spoke, saying, 'The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.' "

I really don't know the correlation between Hosea and 1st and 2nd Kings. I do know one thing: God is true to His word. I am understanding more about the Bible, that's what is important. I don't think that is all that I am supposed to learn, enough for now.  Tell God that you love Him.

The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Please read your Bible.
