Your Pov:

Phoenix and I were the duo that everyone came to see at the club. I would sing songs while Phoenix would try (keyword *try*) to play the music. He has gotten better, but he still missed some notes. It had been 7 years ago today that we met at the club. He had texted me a simple 'Come down to the club.'

I changed into a decent outfit and headed out. I reached the club 5 minutes later and went inside. Phoenix sat at the piano, going over a few notes. I cleared my throat, "What's going on?" He turned to me, "Oh. You're here. Boss wants us to perform that song today." My eyes widened slightly, "B-But today's 7 years to the day of..." He chuckled, "When I lost my badge and met you? Yeah, I know." He looked at the piano, "That is the only song I can play, you know..."

I smiled, "Well, if you're ok, let's practice." We ran through the song, establishing who had what part and such. A couple of times, Phoenix and I would brush hands. I really liked Phoenix but I didn't want to tell him because I didn't want to force myself into his and his daughter's lives. I snapped out of my thoughts and checked the clock. It was 9:00 p.m.

The customers were starting to come in and I helped Phoenix get the piano up on stage. Once that was done, we got situated. The lights dimmed and everyone went silent. Then, the sound of the piano started. I looked up.

(Y/n): Once I was seven years old, my mama told me "Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely" Once I was seven years old...

I smiled as I turned towards Phoenix. You were my friend, but I think I love you now...

(Y/n)/Phoenix: It was a big big world, but we thought we were bigger. Pushing each other to the limits, we were learning quicker. By eleven smoking herb and drinking burning liquor. Never rich so we were out to make that steady figure...

(Y/n)/Phoenix: Once I was eleven years old, my daddy told me "Go get yourself a wife or you'll be lonely" Once I was eleven years old...

(Y/n): I always had that dream, like my daddy before me. So I started writing songs, I started writing stories. Something about that glory just always seemed to bore me. 'Cause only those I really love will ever really know me...

Phoenix knew me better than I knew myself. Phoenix and I were quite different though. Where Phoenix had glory, I had none. Just something about having fame never excited me.

(Phoenix): Once I was twenty years old, my story got told before the morning sun, when life was lonely. Once I was twenty years old

What happened to you was a terrible thing Phoenix, but your story is still being told. I'll tell your story.

(Phoenix): I only see my goals, I don't believe in failure. 'Cause I know the smallest voices, they can make it major. I got my boys with me, at least those in favor. And if we don't meet before I leave, I hope I'll see you later...

You were never one for giving up. You always persued the truth, even when it took away your most prized possession. I hope I'll see you later too...

(Both): Once I was twenty years old, my story got told. I was writing 'bout everything I saw before me. Once I was twenty years old

(Y/n): Soon we'll be thirty years old, our songs have been sold. We've traveled around the world and we're still roaming. Soon we'll be thirty years old

You're already there Phoenix. You've adopted a little girl who knows about the good things you've done. Your badge may be gone, but you're still here. You haven't given up just yet.

(Phoenix): I'm still learning about life. My woman brought children for me. So I can sing them all my songs and I can tell them stories. Most of my boys are with me. Some are still out seeking glory and some I had to leave behind. My brother, I'm still sorry.

Trucy is such a bright girl. He tells her a lot of stories from past cases. Most of his friends went their own ways. The only one still left is Ema. Edgeworth left and Larry was gone. I know he felt bad about Edgeworth...

(Both): Soon I'll be sixty years old, my daddy got sixty-one. Remember life, and then your life becomes a better one. I made a man so happy when I wrote a letter once. I hope my children come and visit once or twice a month...

Both Apollo and Athena come here twice a month to see Phoenix. I know it makes him happy. He basically adopted them.

(Y/n): Soon I'll be sixty years old, will I think the world is cold, or will I have a lot of children who can warm me? Soon I'll be sixty years old...

We finished and the crowd cheered. Phoenix and I took a small bow before the crowd went back to normal. I grabbed a bottle of grape juice and some glasses before going to an empty table. Phoenix sat down and I slid a glass over to him, "Cheers." He nodded, "Cheers." After a couple of glasses, we went outside for a break.

I leaned against the wall and looked around. I snapped towards Phoenix when I heard the clink of a lighter. He was lighting a cigarette. I grabbed it from his mouth, "You told me you quit! You know how Trucy is about this." I dropped it on the ground and snuffed it out. He sighed, "Sometimes you just need that high (Y/n). I did quit, but the urge is still there." I sighed, "Have you tried sucking on candies or distracting yourself with something?" He nodded, "Never works. I don't know what else to try."

I got a sudden burst of confidence, "Try this." I leaned up and pressed my lips to his. I expected him to push me away or not respond, but he kissed back. I pulled away, my confidence now lost, "I-I'm sorry! I-" He cut me off, "Don't apologize. I like you too. I just thought you'd never like a bum in a dead end job." I shook my head, "You're not a bum. Anyways, so I guess we're together now?" He grinned, "Yep. You're stuck with me now."  I kissed his cheek, "Let's go, piano man."

Your story hasn't been fully told just yet Phoenix. You aren't 60 years old yet. Your life will become a better one.
