Prank Gone Wrong! (Edgeworth x Reader)

Author's Note: I had a hard time deciding what character to do for this one. Edgeworth is finally going to get a happy ending! To clarify now, Phoenix will be helping with the prank, but does not like the reader.

Your Pov:

I watched as Edgeworth left the apartment. He went out to the store to get some things. Phoenix sat on the couch next to me, watching t.v.. I nudged him, "Let's get this set up. I'd say we have 15 minutes max." I was going to pull a prank on Edgeworth with Phoenix helping me.

The prank was to make Edgeworth think he caught me and Phoenix 'in the act' when he comes back. We changed into different clothes before dropping the pieces of clothing on the floor by the couch in a line that led to the bedroom. I slipped on a tube top while Phoenix just took his shirt off.

I ruffled up my hair and messed up Phoenix's spikes before spraying our foreheads with some water. We got into the bed and pulled the cover up until it stopped right above my top. I looked at Phoenix, "You put up the cameras right? Also, I apologize in advance for what Edgeworth might do to you." He nodded, "Yeah. I put them up. And, it's ok." I shushed him as I heard the door open. I rested my head on his shoulder while listening to Miles walking around.

I heard him walk past the sofa and stop right outside the hallway. I closed my eyes and rested my head on Phoenix's shoulder as I heard him approach the bedroom. His footsteps stopped in front of the door and the door knob moved.

I pretended to jump when he threw the door open. I pulled the blanket up with me, covering the tube top while Phoenix sat straight up. Edgeworth stood in the doorway, holding a grocery bag. He let go of the bag in shock and the stuff inside rolled out.

His gaze turned from shocked to angry, "What in the hell is going on here?!" I flinched from his choice of language. He had never been one for cursing. I tried to look surprised, "E-Edgeworth! Y-You're back..." I could see his fists clenching as he looked at us, "Wright...I thought I could...!"

He then turned back to me, "And you..." He bowed his head, "I trusted you! How could you?!" Phoenix looked at me as if to ask if we should end the prank, but I looked away, "W-We wanted to tell you..." He sighed, "Tell me what exactly?!"

I nodded slightly at Phoenix and we spoke together, "That it's just a prank!" I pushed the blanket off me, revealing my tube top and shorts. Phoenix did the same. Edgeworth turned and walked out of the room. Phoenix put on a shirt and rushed out after him while I changed into better clothes. After that, I went into the living room to find Edgeworth sitting alone on the couch.

I sat next to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I'm sorry if we upset you. We didn't think it would get you like this..." He looked at me, "I thought you had left me for Wright. I thought I had seen it coming because he's better at everything. He always wins in court, everyone likes him, and he's friends with everyone." He sighed, "Why be with me when you could be with someone like Wright?"

I shook my head, "I love you because you're you. Never in a million years would I leave you for Phoenix. You hold it together while Phoenix flies by the seat of his pants. I will choose you over him every time. Even after 1,000 years, that fact will not have changed." I grabbed his hand.

"I love you."

"I love you too, but you're going to sleep in my apartment's office instead tonight."

"Fine."
