Your Pov:

Blood still stains when the sheets are washed. Sex don't sleep when the lights are off. Kids are still depressed when you dress them up. And syrup is still syrup in a sippy cup.

I sat in the doctor's office with Miles. I decided to get an anxiety evaluation and the doctor decided to prescribe me a medication. We were currently waiting for the doctor to return. Miles spoke up, "Are you sure you don't want a therapist?" I nodded, "I'm sure. I don't need someone with a fancy degree to tell me how I feel. They don't listen anyways." After that, the doctor came back. He handed me a bottle, "This is the best medication we have. Take one pill two times a day with water. Don't exceed 4 in a day and that's about it. I'll leave you to read the label and such."

The doctor left and Miles grabbed the bottle out of my hand. He began to read, "Side effects include and are not limited to: Restlessness, Insomia, Seizures, Nausea, Muscle Weakness, Migraines, Weight Loss, Higher Sex Drive, Paranoia, and homicidal/suicidal thoughts." He looked at me, "These do not sound safe to take. It's like they're trying to kill you." I sighed, "I will be fine. If I start acting weird, I'll stop taking them, alright?" He nodded, "Alright." After that, we left the doctor's office. Once we got in the car, I grabbed my water bottle and took a pill.

We drove home and I started on dinner. 30 minutes later, I set dinner on the table and we ate. After that we cleaned up and headed to bed. I got into bed and tried to go to sleep. Five minutes later, I was still awake. I usually fall asleep within the first 5 minutes of being in bed. Miles was already asleep next to me. I tossed and turned for for hours until the sun came up. I pretended to be asleep when Miles got ready for work and once he left, I turned on the tv.

Pill diet, pill diet, if they give you a new pill then you will buy it. If they say to kill yourself, then you will try it. All the makeup in the world, won't make you less insecure. You got weights in your pockets, when you go to the doctor's!

By the next time I went to the doctor's, I had lost 20 pounds. Miles was concerned but I told him I was fine. So, he dragged me to his next trial. Everyone was staring at me and I felt suffocated, on the verge of an anxiety attack. I reached for the pills in my bag, but they were gone. I looked down towards Miles and saw the bottle in his pocket. I hurried out to the restroom and sat in one of the stalls, trying to calm myself down. I stayed in there for the duration of the entire trial. I managed to find a seat in the lobby just as court let out.

I sat down waiting for Miles to come out. Eventually, he did. He came over to me and spoke, "Are those pills working?" I glared at him, "Give me my pills." He shook his head, "No. These pills are making you crazy. I'm getting rid of them." I ran after him as he walked to a nearby bathroom. He opened the door and went inside, closing it before I could get in. I wanted to bang on the door, but then everyone would stare at me. I heard the sound of the toilet flushing and then the door opened. Miles stepped out and handed me the bottle. I opened it, but all of the pills were gone. I looked at him.

"Where are my pills?" He looked at me, "I flushed them. It was for your own good. Those pills were not helping your anxiety one bit." I sighed and he held my hand, "You don't need pills. I'll help you. You'll be alright."

I nodded, "I believe you."
