Your Pov:

For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a defense attorney. However, I could never say that out loud. From the time I was born, to the time I turned 16, my father had my absolute obedience. Then, I decided to change. And time changes us all. I started to stray from the path my father laid out for me. Instead, I opted to stay in my room and teach myself the ways of a defense attorney. I became what everyone called the 'rebel child'. This sparked many arguments between my father and I. My father's ways of prosecuting were unfair and unjust.

I sat in the study room with father. We were reviewing some material from some prosecutor's textbook. I tuned him out as he ranted on about something. Right before I could completely tune him out, he slammed his hand on my desk, "Pay attention! Now, we've gotten to the actual review." I sighed, to which he narrowed his eyes. He spoke, "Now, a guilty verdict can be acquired in numerous ways. If the defendant is acting irrationally, what can you claim to get your verdict?" I thought for a moment, but I kept on drawing a blank. I shook my head, "I don't know." He irritatedly sighed, "How do you not know such a simple thing?!"

I looked up at him, "Well, how was I supposed to know that? Do you expect me to just know everything and get it right too?" He frowned, "Watch your tone." I stood up and slammed my hands on the table, "Weren't Franziska and Edgeworth enough for you?! If mother was here, she'd-" He cut me off, "I am doing what's best for you. And if your mother was here, I know she'd agree with me. At this rate, you'll never be able to shed that veneer of ameuterism." I scoffed, "Isn't that the exact same thing you told Edgeworth? Well, look at him now! He beat everyone here and he's beating everyone in America. Oh, and don't forget the rumors! Forging evidence, backroom deals, you name it. I don't want that for myself!"

He narrowed his eyes, "What are you saying?" I growled, "I'm saying that I don't want to be a prosecutor! I want to be a defense attorney! I want to save the innocent people that those like you, try to punish! That's what I want for myself!" Then, the sound of skin hitting skin echoed in the room. I held my now red cheek as he looked down at me in disappointment, "You don't know what you're saying. Who's putting these thoughts into your head? Edgeworth? Franziska?" I shook my head, "No. I do know what I'm saying! No one's putting any thoughts into my head except for you! I'm tired of being what you want me to be. I want to be more like me!"

He shook his head, "Prosecuting is in your blood and until you can understand that, stay in your room." I gasped, "Y-You can't!" He pointed towards the door with his cane, "Go!" I left and headed up to my room. I went inside and shut the door. Just as I reached my bed, I heard the lock click. I turned and raced to the door, pulling on the handle as hard as I could. The door was locked. I heard father's voice, "Once you accept your duties, I'll let you out. Think about what you've done."

It was then that I decided that I needed to get away from here. No amount of thinking was going to make me change my mind. I grabbed a duffel bag from my closet and began packing my things into it. Once I finished, I placed it by the window. I grabbed the bed sheets and blankets and started tying them together. Once I had a long enough rope, I tied the end of it to the bedpost. I opened the window and dropped the duffel bag onto one of the bushes. I then slipped out the window and made my way to the nearest airport. I went up to the desk, "Excuse me, when does the next flight to the U.S. leave?"

The desk worker looked at me, "In about 1 hour. Would you like to book a flight?" I nodded, "Yes, please." After that, I got my bag checked and waited for my plane to be called. Soon enough, my plane was called. I made my way through the gate and onto the plane. Luckily for me, I got a window seat with two empty seats next to me. I buckled in and the plane took off. I sighed as I looked out the window.

Goodbye Germany.
