I Still Love Him (Matt Engarde x Reader)

This takes place after Matt is found guilty. Adrian is still in the detention center and tries to convince the reader to leave Matt. The reader visits Matt frequently and believes that he loves her.

Your Pov:

I sat in a visitation room waiting for the guard to bring Adrian in. She was like my best friend. After Matt's case, Adrian was given 2 years for changing the crime scene. Five minutes later, Adrian came in and sat down. She smiled at me, "Hello (Y/n). How are you?" I smiled back, "I'm alright. How are you?" She sighed, "I'm fine. How is it going with Matt?" I sighed dreamily, "It's great. I love him." She shook her head, "I don't understand how you can still love him after everything he did. I mean, I support your decision, but still." I spoke.

"I remember when I met him. It was so clear that he was the only one for me." She cleared her throat, "How do you know that he's not using you like he did all of us?" I continued, "We both knew it right away. And as the years went on, things got more difficult. We were faced with more challenges." She chuckled bitterly, "We all were." I pushed some hair out of my face, "I begged him to stop. To try to remember what we had at the beginning." She nodded silently and let me continue.

"He was charismatic, magnetic, electric, and everybody knew it. When he walked in, every woman's head turned. Everyone stood up to talk to him. He was like this hybrid, this mix of a man who couldn't contain himself." Adrian looked towards the door, "That's what made his image so likable. His 'fresh like a spring breeze' image made him attractive." I smiled as I remembered our fond memories, then frowned, "I always got the sense that he became torn between being a good person and missing out on all the opportunities that life could offer a man as magnificent as him. And in that way, I understood him."

Adrian tsk'ed, "I think you're the only one that does understand him." I nodded, "And I loved him. I loved him. I loved him. I loved him." Adrian cleaned her glasses, "Does he love you as much as you love him?" I sighed, "Even if he doesn't, I'll still love him." We talked about a few other things before she headed back. I waited another few minutes for them to bring in Matt. Soon enough, he came in and sat down. His long bang covered his right eye. He spoke, "How was your visit with Adrian?"

I tilted my head, "It was fine. We just talked about you and some other stuff." He smiled, "Good stuff about me hopefully?" I nodded. (For this chapter, he is going to have split personality disorder. You know about his other side, but he tries not to show it around you.) I examined his face, "How are your scratches? The doctor I spoke to said there should be little to no scarring." He pushed his bangs out of the way, "They're mostly gone. At least the scarring wasn't permanent when Shoe scratched me."

I smiled and pressed my hand against the glass, "I love you." He did the same, "I love you too." Maybe I was hearing wrong, but it sounded a little forced when he said it. I shrugged it off and continued our conversation, "So, you know how I got sick that month you got arrested?" He nodded, "Yeah babe. What about it?" I giggled nervously, "Well, how do you feel about kids?" His eyes widened, "You mean you're...?" His eyes drifted down to my stomach. I nodded.

He smiled, "Babe, that's amazing! I left you with my black card, so you and the baby will be well taken care of." I fiddled with my shirt, "That's the thing. You're in here, and I'm out here with our child. I don't want our child to have to see you through a glass barrier." He sighed, "Babe, everything will be fine. If you want to, you can apply for the conjugal visits." I looked at him, "Ok. I'll try." After that, I left and headed home. I was too wrapped up in the moment to think about the things that were about to happen.

A/N: I know that I've been throwing shade at Matt in some other chapters, so I decided to give him some love. Temporary love, but love nonetheless. I know a lot of people don't like Matt, but if the game didn't try the bad guy shtick, he would've been a little more attractive. At least, I think so.
