The Student Surpasses The Teacher (Manfred Von Karma x Male Reader)

A/N: In this chapter, you are Mia and Maya's brother. You wanted to pursue a law career because of how your mother - Misty Fey - was treated during and after the DL-6 incident. Instead of becoming a defense attorney like Mia, you decided to become a prosecutor. You end up learning alongside Edgeworth who is also being taught by Von Karma.

Your Pov:

I sat at the desk with Edgeworth, reading a book on criminology. Mr. Von Karma was out doing a few things, so he assigned us to read and memorize everything up to chapter ten. There were 20 chapters in the book all together. I was on chapter 8. I turned to see Edgeworth on the same chapter. I sighed and continued reading. The pace at which we were taught was quick. Soon enough, I finished up the last chapter and closed the book. Edgeworth finished just after me.

Edgeworth and I were not really close. When Von Karma asked him why he wanted to become a prosecutor, he made the mistake of calling my mother a fraud right in front of me. Both of our reasons revolved around the DL-6 case, that much was sure. Another thing that was strange, was that I had spiritual powers. The men of the Fey family never have spiritual powers. ESP only ran in the women's blood until now, I guess.

I was knocked out of my thoughts by the door opening. Edgeworth and I turned to see Mr. Von Karma entering. The two of us stayed quiet as he went to stand in front of us, "I assume that you both read the required chapters?" I nodded, "Yes, sir." Edgeworth nodded as well, "Yes, Mr. Von Karma." He nodded, "Good. Now, in a courtroom, you must be stern, yet fierce. Let me hear your objections. They are everything in court."

Edgeworth went first. He had a good, smooth objection. It was loud enough to attract a judge's attention. Mr. Von Karma turned to me, "And you, boy?" I took a deep breath and slammed my hand on the desk, "Objection!" He paused, then nodded, "Almost perfect, but not quite, both of you!" He walked over to another desk and opened the drawer. He pulled out a metal ruler and a letter opener. He turned to us, "We're going to review. If you get anything wrong, you will get hit with the ruler and then cut in the same spot with the letter opener. Roll up your sleeves."

We rolled up our sleeves and the review began. He walked around us before stopping in front of me, "In court there is only room for the __ and __." I stood straighter and answered, "Evidence and verdict, sir." He nodded, "Good. Now." He turned to Edgeworth and asked him a question. I heard Edgeworth answer and then Von Karma made a sound of disapproval. He raised the ruler over Edgeworth's bicep and brought it down. The sound echoed in the room.

The skin was now a bright red. He then took the letter opener and placed it over the red skin before slicing it. He made a 5 inch cut from Edgeworth's inner elbow to over his bicep. I could hear Edgeworth sucking the air through his teeth from the pain. The review went on and I was asked another question. I said the incorrect answer. He approached me and pulled the collar of my shirt down to show my collarbone. The ruler struck the skin and I winced from the stinging sensation.

He grinned as he took the letter opener and placed it on the agitated skin. Then, he began to cut the skin. I gritted my teeth as I realised that he was carving something. After he was finished, he released us from lessons for the day. I went to my room and looked in the mirror. I nearly fainted. Right above my collarbone, the two letters V and K were cut into the skin. He had never done that before. I cleaned it up and tried to bandage it.

When I decided to leave my room, I found a letter taped to my door. I grabbed it and went back into my room. I shut the door and read the letter. It said:

I don't appreciate when the student surpasses the teacher you know. It makes me feel older than I already am. You have much to learn about what it really means to prosecute. You're not even close to perfectionism yet.

KVM

I re-read the letter a couple times but I still didn't have a clue about who KVM was. I surpassed the teacher? Hmm...maybe I do know who wrote it.
