Author's Note: Sorry I'm taking so long to come out with these. I'm just trying to make sure each one is perfect. I have two other one shots in the works right now. Anyways, the reader's family is very old fashioned and traditional, so she will be wearing older fashioned clothes.

Your Pov:

I leaned over the chair as my mother pulled the strings of the corset harder, "Why do I have to wear this mother?!" She scoffed, "You have to look your best in order to find a husband! And a wealthy one at that!" She tied the corset and went to my closet. As I stood straight, I could feel my ribs being compressed. She pulled out a simple red dress and a pair of clear heels before handing them to me.

"Put these on! Everyone at the office is waiting!" I put them on as fast as I could with my breathing being restricted. After that my mother styled my hair into a low bun with two braids connected to it from the front and pinned them together with a diamond hair pin. She did my make up, making my face feel heavy. She grabbed a silver bangle and slid it on my wrist, "You're ready! Let's go."

We went out to the car and left to the office. There was going to be a party of sorts. It wasn't anything big, but a lot of people were going to be there. I hated going to these types of things. My mother was very traditional. She raised me to believe that women of high status were to get married to men of high status. She also raised me to believe that the only way to get a wealthy husband, was to be beautiful. From the time I turned 13, she always made me wear a corset and a dress. I could never wear jeans, shorts, or even leggings. I'm 18 now, but I'll remain under my mother's care until I find a husband she approves of.

I was knocked out of my thoughts by my mother, "We're here! Stop day dreaming!" I sighed, "Yes, mother." I followed her out of the car and inside to the party. The prosecutor's office rarely celebrated, so seeing a lot of people in the room was a bit nerveracking. My mother hit my lower back with her hand, "Stand straight!" I noticed that there were some defense attorneys here and there. My mother nudged me, "There are many wealthy men here tonight. Find your future husband. I will be heading home to wait for the news. Do not fail me. A car will come at 8."

I nodded, "Yes, mother." She left and I walked around, trying to avoid any and all conversations. It was currently 7:00, so I had one hour to wait out. As I went to the back of the room, a slow song started. Almost everyone headed onto the dance floor. As the song played, I felt a hand on my shoulder, "Excuse me, miss?" I turned to see the demon prosecutor himself, Miles Edgeworth. I looked at him, "Yes?" He held out a hand, "Would you care to dance?"
