So for music class the homework assignment was to write a country song and it has to be performed at graduation even though everyone is in their sophomore year of college.

Jess was thinking in her dorm and thought about her Dad and Fred and how they raised her.

You tucked me in, turned out the lights
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when
I looked back
You had to do it all alone, make a livin' make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be
And when I couldn't sleep at night
Scared things wouldn't turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to me

When she got to the chorus she was stumped.

"UGH!"

Come on Dad give me something a sign!

she thought. Just then her phone rang it was Fred.

"Hey Daddy. What up?"

Fred said.

"Do you remember the song we sang with your father? I am trying to tell Archie."

Jess sighed remembering the lyrics and smiling as she sang. Then Fred joined in.

"Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Cant go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry hold in tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly fly away."

Archie said on speaker.

"Interesting."

Jessica said as she found her chorus.

"Oh my goodness I got it now! Bye Daddy I love you!"

they hung up and Jess finished it.

Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Cant go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry hold in tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly fly away

for the end Matt and Jess used to add that she put in.

Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
Flap your wings now you can't stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
We've been waiting for this day
All along and knowing just what to do
Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away.

She had a home video to use when she Matt and Fred would sing it to send to her professor to show where she found inspiration. The professor teared up and said.

"Please sing this to the class on Monday."

Jess said.

"Ok but now my brother knows the chorus."

On Monday Jess is the only one showing off the song she wrote as she is nervous but excited. Jess says.

"Archie you know the chorus because Dad and I sang it!"

so the guitar and piano started as the home video came on for the chorus and she starts.

"You tucked me in, turned out the lights
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when
I looked back
You had to do it all alone, make a livin' make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be
And when I couldn't sleep at night
Scared things wouldn't turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to me
Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Cant go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry hold in tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
Flap your wings now you can't stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
We've been waiting for this day
All along and knowing just what to do
Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away."

Archie, Jug and all of their friends teared up! It was so beautifully written and she sang it so amazing. Archie hugged her as she said.

"You think Daddy will love it? It dedicated to both of my fathers so i'm singing this at graduation. Oh my goodness I am going to cry that day!"

Archie said assuring.

"He will."

When Jess left Archie had an idea at graduation now knowing how the ending go, he asked the professor to have their dad and Archie sing along with her to give her the piece of her dad as if he were here. Archie wanted to give that memory back to his little sister and that how moved he was by the song. The professor loved it, but said.

"What if she look for your dad in the audience? she will panic."

Jughead overheard this and said.

"I will help her relax along with Jess and Archie's mom."

When Archie left Jughead asked.

"My song at graduation is a love song to Jess and I was wondering if it ok that I can propose to her? When the time comes I will asked for her family hand in marriage no worries."

The professor was touched by it and approved.

Later that night Archie got his dad on board with the idea at graduation.
