Pulling up to Jennie's place, Rosé sucked in her lips. Turning to her side, she saw that Jennie's head was bowed low. Closing her eyes with a deep sigh, she turned forward again. They sat quietly for a few moments. Seeing a shadow peaking from one of the windows, Rosé smiled sadly.

"I haven't been fair to you at all," she began softly. Surprised to hear her voice, Jennie gave her a concerned look.

"Sorry?"

"You asked me to give you time. To think over whether you want to date me or not. And I haven't given you that time or that space," continued Rosé, "I apologize for not respecting your boundaries Jennie. I hope, I hope you can forgive me."

The brunette felt a sense of dread overcome her. She hated seeing the blonde look so sad. She wanted it to stop. She needed it to stop. Her thoughts caught her by surprise. What the fuck was going on with her.

"Rosé, I haven't pushed you away, have I? In fact, I'd say I've been encouraging this. There's no need for you to apologize. We're both aware of our own actions," Jennie looked at her seriously, but the blonde's shoulders sagged.

"You don't know me Jennie. You don't know me yet," she whispered but it hit the brunette like a siren. There was a deeply pained expression on Rosé's face and Jennie couldn't stand it.

"Baby, that's what we're doing. Getting to know each other," said Jennie softly as she used deft fingers to make the blonde look at her. Shaking her head out of Jennie's hands, Rosé ruffled her own hair.

"You don't know. How much I've gone through just to..." Rosé wanted to say find her but knew the brunette wouldn't understand. She placed her head against the steering wheel.

"What have you gone through baby?" the concern in Jennie's voice was evident. Sighing, Rosé sat up again.

"You wouldn't understand. Not yet," she smiled softly but Jennie wasn't satisfied.

"How would you know if you don't tell me?"

"Just trust me Jen, I know."

"You want me to trust you. But you don't trust me enough to tell me what's wrong?"

"I didn't mean for it to come across like that."

"How else would it come across. Please just talk to me Rosé."

"Look I think I need to give you some space. So you can make a clear decision about whether you really want to date me or not. I think we should come to a consensus of what we are."

"So you're distancing yourself from me? All I asked what's wrong, so I can help you," Jennie felt her heart clenching.

"Jennie when I said I would kill that man if he tried anything with you I meant it. When I said he can't have you, I meant it. And I would do the same for anyone else who does something similar to you. Only with you," said Rosé and Jennie's eyes widened.

What Rosé confessed was fucking madness and Jennie knew she shouldn't feel any sense of happiness from it. But she did. She found it so endearing and that scared her shitless.

"I have my reasons for feeling that way. And it's only fair that I give you time to think through whether your ready to accept those reasons. Fuck I don't even know if you'll understand them," sighed Rosé as she glided a hand through her hair. She looked so frustrated and lost now. Jennie just wanted to wrap her in her arms and kiss it all better.

"I want to date you. We can figure this out," said Jennie but Rosé shook her head.

"You're being impulsive love," chuckling Rosé looked at her sadly, "You never change."
