Into The Bunker: Part 3

Dipper's p.o.v.

"Ugh, where are the lights?" Wendy asks before suddenly we were both showered on before steam was blown at us, forcing us to bump into each other. A door behind us opens and it's a huge area with pipes built all around the dirt, we look around the damaged area. "Woah, a hidden lab, maybe the authors did experiments down here," I mutter when Wendy looks at all the tunnels asking "What do you think dug all these tunnels?" "Let's hope we don't find out," I tell her when we heard a monstrous sounding shriek when we see the shadow of what looked like a giant spider.

Letting out a scream we run to the door and start banging on it, shouting for Mabel to let us back in. "Mabel open up for real! There's a monster in here!" "Ha! Nice try, the only monster is your own inner demons Dipper," She calls back when we hear the handle start to move. "(y/n) don't!" "Mabel it doesn't sound like they're joking let me open the door!" We hear the two started struggling with each other when Wendy tells me:

"Dipper! Just say whatever it is Mabel wants you to say so she'll let us out of here!" "Come on Dipper! Now's the time!" My sister cheers for me when (y/n) shouts "Dipper just blurt it out so you can come back in!"  I look between the door and Wendy, who do I confess to?! I don't have a chance with either of them! We hear the monster come closer. "Wendy.- no (y/n) I...I...I'm gonna find another way out!" I call out to her, grabbing Wendy's hand and run into the tunnels.

"Wait what?! Dude! Where are we going?!" Wendy asks as I drag her with me when we run into a dead end. No, no, no, no, no! Why didn't I just tell (y/n) I liked her?! Now Wendy's gonna pay for it. "What do we do?!" "I dunno!" The shadow of the creature approaches when suddenly the shadow of a man jumps on the thing's back before ripping the thing's tongue out, forcing the creature to run away. "Back! Back you hanius beast!" We hear the guy say when he approaches us heaving. He tosses the tongue down stating "Welp, I just ripped out a monster's tongue," I stare gobsmacked at the man before me. "I-it's you!" "Hurry now! I scared it off but it'll regenerate!" We run after him.

"I wasn't expecting guests, I've been down here for a very long time. Years...Weeks maybe, I miss orange juice," He tells me and I continue to stare at the man with grey hair and a grey mustache. His eyes were covered by his goggles and he was dressed like he was about to fly a blimp or a plane is that what he was going to do before he had to come down here? I can ask questions later but right now I found one of the authors! " You don't understand, you're one of the guys I've been looking for!"

"He's one of them?" Wendy asks and I nod my head. "Wendy it's one of them." "One of them?" He asks, arching an eyebrow at me as I start to pace in excitement, telling him "I've got like a gazillion questions to ask you. Who's the other author? Are they here with you? Why did you guys write the journals? Who was after you? Why did you build this bunker? Do you know (y/n)?" I throw question after question at him and he laughs. "My boy I'd love to discuss this in time but we have more pressing matters. It's one of my experiments. A shapeshifter. Able to take the form of anyone or anything it sees. It broke free from a solid cage of steel."

He shows the broken cage as he continued to explain things. "I've gone half crazy trying to catch the creature alone. But now you're here. Will you help me catch it?" He asks getting on my level and I vigorously nod my head.

(y/n)'s p.o.v.

I sit at the desk and impatiently tap my finger, it's been a while since we last heard from Dipper and Wendy but Mabel won't let me open the door until Dipper says whatever it is he needs to say. Mabel was playing with buttons while Soos put on a lab coat commenting "They sure are taking their time in there, hey! Do I look smarter with this coat and briefcase? I feel like I look smarter."

Mabel starts messing with the controls again. "Razzle dazzle, look at this tube-ey thing," A screen showed live footage of a tube-shaped containment holder and Mabel kept pressing a glowing red button as we watched the screen and the container froze and un-froze. That's when I take notice of the notes sitting in front of us. "What's this? Experiment #210: The shapeshifter. Became too dangerous! Placed in cryogenic stasis," That information sinks in and Soos asks nervously "Shapeshifter? Dude didn't Dipper say there was a monster in there with him?" I instantly run to the door and start opening it as Mabel exclaims "I thought he was just joking!" "YOU KNOW DIPPER'S JOKES ARE TERRIBLE!"
