You watched all the students leave for their Christmas holiday. Leaving in carriages pulled by horses across the frozen lake. All your friends went home... but you didn't. Your parents had plans to visit family in Australia.

You sighed and walked inside towards the Slytherin common room.

You never really liked staying at Hogwarts. There would be mostly Gryffindors around Hogwarts... and the fact that your crush from Herbology class was staying here as well, didn't make it better.

Neville Longbottom... he knew a lot about plants and herbs. He was mostly known as the clumsy one around Hogwarts but you like that about him.

You never really spoke to him except in Herbology. You were friends with Draco and his friends so a chance to talk to Gryffindors wasn't really there. But when you did talk you could talk about plants, herbs and school for ever.

You walked into the Slytherin common room and started looking for your Herbology books. Your tests were coming up so a little extra studying wasn't that bad. You walked towards the great hall and looked at the tables.

The Hufflepuff table had around 5 students, the Ravenclaw table had 4 students and the Gryffindor table had 15 students. The Slytherin  table was empty... great.

You sighed and sat down at the table.  You opened your books and started studying.

'Come on Luna. Join me at the Gryffindor table.'

You looked up and saw Neville. Your heart skipped a beat and you looked back at your book.

'Why don't you join Y/N? I'll just sit at the Ravenclaw table.' Luna sighed.

Neville looked at her.

'Are you crazy? In comparison with her I'm like... a loser.' He sighed.

'Neville... how will you ever find out whether or not she likes you if you don't talk to her?'

'I talk to her!'

Luna raised her brows. 

'About Herbs.' She stated.

'So? I'm comfortable with that.' He sighed.

It was quiet for a moment.

'Why don't you ask her to the Christmas party for the people who stay here? There are no Slytherins left and it doesn't look like she has a date.'

Neville looked at you. He sighed.

'If you want to go with her... you have to be quick. One of the Hufflepuffs is checking her out as well.' Luna smiled while getting up.

She walked towards the Ravenclaw table. Neville nervously played with his robes and looked at the Hufflepuff table. One boy was clearly looking at you and wanted to get up. Neville gathered his courage and got up and almost ran towards you. He got there before the Hufflepuff boy.

'Y/N...'

You looked up and smiled at him.

'Hi Neville, how are you?' You asked nervously.

'I-I'm fine.' He smiled while wiping his sweaty hands on his robes. 'Y/N... are you planning on going to the Christmas party?' He asked.

You looked at him and shrugged.
