"C'mon, let's go!" One of your friends said impatiently, which made you pack up your bag faster. You saw Peter Parker near the door, rubbing his hands together because of the cold December evening.

"One second, I'll be there!" you said to the friend, then walked to him. Before he could acknowledge your presence, you took off your scarf casually and handed it over.

"Thanks?" It sounded like a question, even to himself.

"In case you have to do Spiderman-ing tonight," you said, making sure no one was in earshot. "Just don't stay out too late, alright? If there's too much fog, you won't see where you're shooting webs to."

"Wait, what—"

But you were already gone, yelling after your friends about the upcoming holidays, leaving him to wonder how the hell you knew he was Spiderman.

From then on, he saw you, not just as a speedy silhouette like everyone else in his school, but really see. At first, his body responded to you as if you were a threat. You did know who he was, so he had enough reasons to be suspicious.

How did you know? Would you tell anyone? And most important of all, if you knew, why are you still acting towards him like you always did?

Maybe you always knew. That thought didn't comfort him.

As the days passed, he realized he didn't need to confront you. Your routine told him everything he needed to know. You were observant, and it seemed as if you knew every secret around the place. Yet you didn't hold it over their heads, nor did you make a big deal out of everything.

He saw you talking with almost everyone, but never to someone for more than ten minutes. You knew everyone and no one all at once. Peter could relate to the feeling. It was what being Spiderman was like.

He noticed the less important things too, like how you were sarcastic and kind at the same time, how you were feisty but never aggressive. He noticed you being dumb too — falling headfirst to the ground once or twice, then coming back up with flushed face and steady laughs.

Sometimes, he forgot to look away. Most times, he didn't want to.

He groaned. I'm not falling in love with her, nope.

So of course, he fell in love with you, all in over the course of three months.

In his defense, it was your fault. After that scarf-exchange, you began talking to him more and before long, you two were close. Peter thought it'd be great to have a friend, and it just so happened to be someone who knew his secret, so that made it better.

He thought his crush would disappear if he tried being your friend instead, but with each day, he began noticing more things about you, and more and more in love he fell.

Even Aunt May could pick up on hints that he was heads over heels for you, but you were nothing if not oblivious.

Peter always went big, especially on birthdays. When it was yours, he had the perfect gift in mind — a locket with your picture inside. It wasn't too expensive or grand, so you wouldn't suspect anything, but it was also something he handmade, so it had just enough importance.
