Ever since Barf Bag announced her pregnancy, the rest of the team was thrilled for her. They were making sure that she was comfortable, and were ready to help them face this new chapter.
However, it didn't take long to realize that Barf Bag was starting to get distant from the rest of the team. At first, the team boiled it down to pregnancy hormones, but they soon started to realize somthing else was going on. Barf Bag wasn't even up for a relaxing movie night with the rest of the team, somthing she would have loved if she was herself.
"What's up with Barfy?" Pin asked, concern etched on her face, "It isn't like her to just bail on movie night like that."
Donut had a response, "She's just tired is what she told me. Don't worry about her."
Needle rolled her eyes, "Donut, come on. You and I both know this isn't like her. Even if she was puking in a bowl for most of the day, which she wasn't, she'd still drag her ass to movie night. The fact she isn't here is concerning."
Donut sighed, "You're right Needle. I've been trying to respect her wishes...but I think I need to go talk to her."
Gaty nodded, "That sounds like a good idea. We wont start the movie without you
Donut gave a soft knock on the door.
"Come in," Barf Bag said, her voice soft.
Donut opened the door gently, "Barfy...the team and I have noticed that you've been a bit distant from us."
Barf Bag scoffed, "I told you, it's the pregnancy hormones. Go watch the movie with them, I just need to be alone right now."
Donut rolled his eyes, as he sat down next to her in bed, "Barfy, you and I both know that you never miss movie night. Clearly something else is going on, I'm here to listen."
Barf Bag took a deep breath, "I just didn't think it would be so soon, Donut. When I first found out, I was thrilled, but now...I can't shake the nervous feeling away from me."
Donut tried to comfort her, "It's natural to be nervous Barfy. Trust me, I am too."
Bar Bag shook her head, "You don't understand. I'm just...I..." tears started flowing down Barf Bags face, "What if I miscarry the baby again. I can't go through that again, it was one of the lowest points in my entire life."
Donut, while understanding Barf Bag's worries, didn't understand why that would make her so distant, "You know, movie night might help you keep your mind off things, why not give it a go."
Barf Bag started trembling, "I just feel like I'm letting everyone down. They're all so happy for me and I want to radiate the excitement of the new baby back at them...but I can't...I just...I..."
Donut took a hold of her hand, "Barfy, you being upset isn't letting anyone down, I promise."
Barf Bag leaned into Donut's embrace, her sobs muffled against his chest. "I want to be happy, I really do. But the fear... it's paralyzing."
Donut held her tighter, his own eyes welling up with tears. "Barfy, you don't have to go through this alone. We're all here for you, and we understand your fears. You're not letting anyone down by being scared or anxious."
She sniffled, wiping her eyes. "It's just that last time... it hurt so much, Donut. And I'm scared that if I let myself get too excited, it'll be ripped away from us again."
He nodded, understanding the depth of her pain. "It's okay to be scared, Barfy. It's okay to feel everything you're feeling. The team loves you and they'll understand. They'll support you just like they always have."
Barf Bag looked up at him, her eyes red but filled with a glimmer of hope. "You think they'll understand?"
"I know they will," Donut assured her. "They care about you, and they'll want to help in any way they can."
For the first time that night, Barf Bag put on a genuine smile, "You know, movie night sounds like just what I need right now."
Donut softly chuckled, "That's the Barf Bag I know. Come on, they're waiting on us before they start."
Barf bag took a hold of Donut's hand as they made there way back downstairs.
"Hey," Coiny said, smiling, "There you are! I'm so glad you could make it, Barf Bag!"
Saw added, "We saved you a spot right in the middle. You know, prime viewing area and all."
Barf Bag felt a warmth spread through her chest at their consideration. She sat down, Donut settling beside her, his hand gently squeezing hers for reassurance. The familiar, comforting sounds of the team settling in for the movie filled the room.
As the opening credits rolled, Needle leaned over and whispered, "If you ever need to talk, about anything, we're here for you. All of us."
Barf Bag nodded, her eyes misting up again, but this time with gratitude rather than fear. "Thanks, Needle. That means a lot."
As the night continued, Barf Bag realized that she was not alone in this. No matter what this next pregnancy would hold for her and Donut, she knew she could always count on the comforting presence of Team8s.
...............................................................
Today felt like one of those short, wholesome chapter kind of days. I like how this one came out, even if it is a bit cheesy.
THANK YOU ALL FOR 20K READS! I honestly don't know how we managed to hit it that fast (It's only been like, 3 months since we reached 10K, but hey, a promise is a promise, and you should be getting those children designs tomorrow!
Also, get ready for the 100 chapter surprise! I'm gonna announce it at the end of the next chapter on Saturday, so stay tuned because it's not something you want to miss!
Speaking of Saturday, I'm getting into meetup mode and I'm really excited for TPOT 12, hopefully we get some much needed content from out Team8ers! For those of you not going to the meetup(s), please stay safe from the spoilers, as the tour officially starts tommorow (I failed pretty damn miserably at that last year and knew like 1/4th of the episode going into the NY show). I will not be posting any sort of spoilers on this book, so no need to worry! Hope you all enjoyed this chapter, and I'll see you in the next one!
