Gaty had been stressed out with work lately. Being a school psychologist was a lot more energizing than she had originally thought. She was constantly talking with various students about issues, both personal and academic, and had to write to various teachers in order to sort out some of her students' problems. The worst part is when parents demanded to know what she had been saying to her students, even though what she and her students talked about was confidential and was requested not to be shared with them.
Saw had often checked in on her, making sure she wasn't too stressed out, but the thing was, no matter how many times Saw tried to get her to let her feelings out, she never told her the full story. Saw had her own students to deal with back at the preschool, and Gaty didn't want to vent to her about her work struggles.
Thankfully, Saw wasn't the only one who noticed she had been extra stressed out. Pin had been able to detect her stress from a mile away. She had heard her nearly cry in her room multiple times while writing emails, and while Pin didn't want to approach her directly about it, she knew she wasn't going to sit there and let this continue.
One afternoon, after Gaty had come home from work, Pin softly knocked on her door.
"What?" Gaty said, sounding irritated.
"Hey, it's just me, Gaty." Pin said calmly.
Gaty felt bad for the irritable tone. She took a deep breath, trying to hide her frustration. "You can come in."
Pin slowly opened the door, to find Gaty once again sitting at her computer. "I just wanted to ask you to invite you to dinner tonight, just you and I."
Gaty looked at her confused. "Tonight? Pin, it's the middle of the week."
"I know." Pin said, placing her hand in front of her. "I just thought it would be nice to have a little break from everything for a bit."
Gaty sighed, "Look Pin, I appreciate it, but someone's gotta make dinner for the kids tonight between the two of us. Between that and finishing up all these emails, there's just no time."
Pin had already planned for this. "I made an extra batch of yesterday's dinner and put it in the fridge; all one of the others has to do is heat it up and they have their meal."
Gaty was still hesitant, "Pin, I don't know about this."
Pin was not willing to have her brain occupied for the rest of the night. "I'll be quick, quicker then you making dinner, eating it, and cleaning up after the kiddos. You deserve it, Gaty."
Gaty eventually gave in, not wanting to reject Pin's offer anymore, "Okay then. But it better be quick."
Pin and Gaty have had a close friendship for a while now. Between them being on Team8s together, both of them losing their now partners early on in TPOT, and then being randomly placed on a team with a group that had been friends for years, it was only natural that the two would get along. They had always had each others backs, often talking to each other about things that not even Coiny, Needle, or Saw knew about.
In fact, Gaty was the first person Pin ever came out as bisexual to. Pin had been holding it in for a while, and she was nervous that if she told Coiny or even Needle, they were gonna cut ties with her all together. One night, after Gaty was recounting the day that she came out to Saw, which ultimately started their friendship, Pin just couldn't hold it in anymore. She told Gaty her secret, crying for hours about how hard it was to accept her sexuality, and Gaty saw and listened the whole time, comforting her, letting her know that she wasn't alone, and that it didn't change a thing between them. It was nice to know that she didn't have to carry the weight of her secret all by herself, and that Gaty was never going to tell a soul unless Pin was ready.
