Price Tag was heading to Bookmark's room to check on her and the girls, just to see what they were up to. They slowly approached the door, and were about to give a gentle knock. Before they did, however, they heard a small piece of what the girls were talking about.
"I knew my dad and Pin were the first to start dating out of my parents, with my other mom joining the relationship later," Thread noted, "But it's interesting, it seems like my dad was a lot closer with needle, heck, she even admitted to having a crush on her!"
"That's definitely something to think about." Bookmark said, reflecting on the show as a whole. "The only one that I really remember my mom talk about is Ice Cube, apparently they were close friends. Although, not to be rude Flare, but your mom maybe could have treated her a little better."
"Nah, I get it, Bookmark." Flare said. "She's definitely the type who would do that. And it seemed like my other mom was just joined to her hip! Things haven't changed that much between the two of them."
Immediately, Price Tag backed away from the door. They couldn't believe what they were hearing.
Shit. They thought to themself.
But to their shock, Taggy knew what they had heard: the three girls had just found out about the show, and had just finished season one.
Taggy never shied away from the topic of BFDI, frequently talking to Bookmark about their experiences. In fact, they didn't have a care in the world that they had just watched the first season.
But Book...oh...Book was a completely different story. Book hated bringing it up, like, really hated it. She would try to steer away from the conversation as quickly as possible whenever Bookmark brought it up. In fact, it was only getting worse through the years. Not only did Book end up lying to Bookmark about the show not being online anymore before she got her first phone, but it even got to the point that Book started to have full on anxiety attacks because of it. Taggy would always try their best to calm her down, but sometimes it would take hours for her to recover.
Price Tag had to tell Bookmark to stay away from the topic whenever she was around, but that they would always be willing to answer questions about their experience on the show...their experience only. They knew Book had a rough past that she wasn't ready to share with her daughter, and would simply tell Bookmark that they didn't know.
"So, how are they?"
Price Tag jumped form the sudden voice behind them, only to find out that it was Book, probably wondering why it was taking so long for them to get down.
"They're good." Price Tag said, trying not to look Book in the eye.
Book smiled. "Glad to hear!"
Price Tag needed to find a way to distract Book from staying upstairs, knowing that it wouldn't be a pretty scene if Book heard any of the kids mention anything from the show. "So...why don't we head downstairs for a bit...maybe we can put on some TV and catch up?" Price Tag suggested, trying to keep their voice light and casual.
Book tilted her head slightly, as if sensing something was off, but eventually nodded. "Sure. TV sounds nice. Did they say what they were up to?"
Price Tag hesitated. "Just...hanging out, you know. Typical kid stuff."
"Hmm," Book murmured, giving one last glance toward Bookmark's door before heading toward the stairs. Price Tag let out a silent breath of relief and followed her.
Once they turned the TV on, Price Tag's mind was racing. One of Thread's parent was going to pick up her and Flare and take them home. The one thing on their mind was, do I tell them?
