It was hard for Needle to forget about what Price Tag had revealed to her just days before, and there was still a lot to think about as for what the next steps were going to be knowing this informations, but nonetheless, the world kept spinning, and it was time to get Dimey ready for soccer practice.
The kids were going to be playing in a full scrimmage, and were all quite excited. In fact, Thread and Bladey also wanted to come and watch their brother play, and Pin, Coiny, Saw, and Gaty also ended up going with them. This left Barf Bag, Donut, and their kids alone at the house.
"Enjoy the quiet in the house you guys!" Needle said to Barf Bag and Donut, as she was tying Dimey's cleats.
Barf Bag chuckled, leaning against the doorframe with a warm smile. "Oh, trust me, we will. With all the kids out, it'll feel like a vacation."
"Don't get too comfortable," Needle teased, glancing up from Dimey's cleats. "We'll be back before you know it."
Dimey bounced on his heels, eager to get going. "Come on, Mom, let's go! We're gonna be late!"
"Alright, alright, keep your jersey on," Needle replied, giving him a playful nudge as she finished tying his shoes.
With a wave goodbye, Needle and the group piled into their cars and headed to the soccer field.
Back at the house, as the morning went on, Sprinkle and Sack were in their rooms while Barf Bag and Donut tidied up the kitchen. Despite their differences, the boys continued to be close with each other, and if one ever needed help, the other would always be there for them.
The two boys had been chatting away with each other for about an hour, about life, school, and various other random topics that entered their five year old minds.
"Sack?" Sprinkle asked his brother.
"What?" Sack responded, laying down on his bed.
Sprinkle chuckled to himself. "What do you think it would be like if the house was like this everyday?"
Sack scrunched his face. "What do you mean?"
Sprinkle elaborated. "Like, imagine if it was just you, me, mom, and dad? It feels we're the only ones who live with our aunts and uncle, plus our cousins."
Sack shrugged. "It would be a lot quieter, I guess."
"And boring!" Sprinkle added. "Soccer in the backyard would be a lot less fun without Dimey, Bladey, and Uncle Coiny and Auntie Needle."
"It would be!" Sack smiled. "Plus, we needed Thread's help to pull my tooth out that one time, although I don't think mom liked it very much."
"Eh," Sprinkle thought about it. "That's why we have backups! At least Uncle Coiny seemed to think it was cool!"
"Before everyone else got mad at him!" Sack laughed.
The two boys at this point were on their beds laughing hysterically, loud enough to the point where Barf Bag and Donut heard it from downstairs. They smiled at each other, glad that their boys were forming such a close friendship.
"Those two could talk and laugh for hours," Donut said, drying his hands on a dish towel.
Barf Bag leaned against the counter, a soft smile on her face. "It's good for them. I think they've found a rhythm—having so many people around can be overwhelming sometimes, but they're going to be twins for life, it's good that they have this connection at such a young age!"
Back upstairs, the boys kept on laughing on their beds, before they eventually calmed down. As the laughter subsided, Sprinkle rolled onto his back, staring at the ceiling. "Do you think we'll ever be able to read each other's thoughts? That's what someone at recess told me once, and I believe it."
