Pin, Coiny, Needle, Saw, and Gaty gathered Bladey and Thread into the living room. Today was the day: Barf Bag and Donut were bringing Sprinkle and Sack home. All the adults kept staring at their phones checking the time, the minutes feeling like hours. The two little girls couldn't contain their excitement, as they sat on the couch, waiting for the twins to come home. But first, the adults made sure to set some ground rules for when the babies made their way into the house.
"Okay you two!" Saw started off, "When Sprinkle and Sack get here, do we use our indoor voices, or our outdoor voices?"
"Indoor!" Thread said, "So the babies don't get scared!"
Gaty nodded, "That's right! And when can we hold the babies?"
Bladey raised her hand excitedly. "Only when an adult says it's okay and when we're sitting down!"
Pin smiled, pleased with Bladey's attentiveness. "Exactly, Bladey. And we have to be very gentle with them. They're still very little and delicate."
Coiny added, "Remember, the twins will need a lot of rest. So if they're sleeping, we have to be extra quiet."
Thread nodded eagerly. "We promise to be quiet!"
Saw, satisfied with the girls' understanding, glanced at the clock. "Alright, it's almost time. They should be here any minute now."
As the anticipation grew, the doorbell finally rang. Barf Bag and Donut entered, each carrying a tiny, bundled-up baby. The room was instantly filled with a sense of wonder and excitement.
"Everyone," Barf Bag announced softly, "meet Sprinkle and Sack."
The twins, nestled comfortably in their parents' arms, looked around with wide, curious eyes. The team gathered around, admiring the new additions with awe and affection.
"They're so adorable!" Needle said softly.
Bladey and Thread, maintaining their promise, kept their voices to a whisper. "They're so tiny," Bladey said, her eyes wide with amazement.
Donut crouched down to their level, still holding Sack. "Would you like to say hello? Remember to be very gentle."
Bladey and Thread approached cautiously, their faces lighting up with joy as they got closer to the babies. Thread reached out a finger, gently touching Sprinkle's hand. "Hi, Sprinkle. I'm your big cousin, Thread."
Bladey, not wanting to be left out, did the same with Sack. "Hi, Sack. I'm Bladey. I'm going to help take care of you."
The adults watched with pride, seeing how tenderly the girls interacted with the twins. It was a heartwarming sight, the beginning of a new, beautiful chapter for the family.
"When can we hold them, Auntie Barf Bag?" Bladey niceley asked.
Barf Bag wanted to have the girls hold the babies, but admittedly, she was a little hesitant at first, "Let's have your parents hold them first."
"Awwwwwww," the girls said in disappointment.
Barf Bag gave the babies to Pin and Coiny, who were in awe of just how adorable the twins were.
Pin cradled Sprinkle gently, marveling at his tiny features. "He's perfect," Pin whispered, smiling down at the baby.
Coiny held Sack carefully, his eyes softening with affection. "Look at him, he's already so strong."
"Can we have a go?" Needle asked, her and Saw wanting to be next to hold the babies.
Pin and Coiny exchanged looks and then nodded, carefully handing Sprinkle and Sack over to Needle and Saw. Needle took Sprinkle, her face lighting up with a soft smile. "Hello, little one," she cooed, gently rocking him in her arms.
