Gaty was in her room writing some emails to parents about the upcoming school year. Coiny was downstairs with the kids, Saw was at a teachers meeting at the preschool, and the rest of the adults were at work, which gave Gaty some time to herself.

Gaty remembered having to go to all those teacher meetings at the preschool before the school year started. They could be a bit annoying, but it usually wasn't anything too bad; just reminders about school policies, protocols, all the boring stuff.

However, Saw was a little bit more stressed about this upcoming year. Her assistant, Spool Key, was moving away, meaning that Saw would be getting a new teaching assistant for the upcoming school year. She had yet to find out who it was, and the head of the preschool was going to let her know at this very teachers meeting. It could have been anyone really; one of the old teachers, causing some other teachers to switch assistants, or a whole new teacher, she had no idea.

Gaty calmed Saw down, reminding her that she was one of the kindest and accepting people on the entire planet, and that it didn't matter what assistant she got; she would work with them with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. This made Saw feel good going into the teachers meeting, making Gaty very happy for her to say the least.

However, the minute Saw got home, she let out a loud groan, went upstairs into her room, shut the door hard behind her, and flopped face first onto the bed, her groans being muffled by the pillows.

Gaty was concerned, after this morning, she was sure that Saw was just going to skip right back into the house like she does on any given day. Gaty sat down on the bed next to Saw. "What happened, baby?"

Saw let out a deep, muffled sigh. "Everything, Gaty. Everything happened."

Gaty rubbed her back, trying to calm her down. "Define everything."

Saw lifted her head up from the pillows. "Out of every teacher I could have gotten paired with, Gaty, guess who I got paired with, guess?"

Gaty thought about it. "Who the heck could be that bad?"

Saw looked Gaty in the eyes. "So apparently Ms. Feather got bumped down a couple of age groups, and right now, you're next to her brand new teaching partner!"

"SHE'S STILL THERE?" Gaty exclaimed. "After everything she's done, I thought she would have gotten fired by now!"

"I don't disagree with you, Gaty." Saw's face softened. "But...she's clearly far from gone."

Gaty shook her head in disappointment, "She literally refused to let not just any kid, but Sack, our own innocent nephew, use the bathroom. That is just wrong, I thought Barfy made a point about never letting that so-called teacher see children again after this past year."

"I can't believe it either, Gaty." Saw took a deep breath. "But you know what, even after all of that, I still tried to give her a second chance. So, I sucked it up, and showed her around my classroom, and told her about some of my plans for next year. And you'll never believe what happened!"

Gaty rolled her eyes, not wanting to hear what Ms. Feather had to say. "What did she do?"

Saw scooted in closer towards Gaty. "She literally criticized me on everything, and I mean everything. First, she didn't like the fact that I had a "quiet corner" in the classroom. She said, 'These kids don't need any more excuses to be lazy. They need discipline, not special spaces to hide away.' Can you believe that?"

Gaty's jaw dropped. "That's absurd. The quiet corner is so important! It gives kids a safe space to calm down if they're overwhelmed. Does she even understand how young children work?"
