As Barf Bag and Donut were welcomed back into their home, they couldn't help but feel empty handed due to the absence of their twins. However, they had enough to keep them busy until the day came when they would finally be welcomed into the Team8s household.
Barf Bag and Donut were finishing up some last minute things for the nursery. They had a goal to complete it before the twins were born, but of course Sprinkle and Sack had other plans. They had been decorating the walls with all sorts of decor, untill Barf Bag heard little feet tapping the ground behind her.
"Auntie!" Bladey said, running up and giving Barf Bag a hug.
Barf Bag looked down at Bladey and smiled, "Why hello there Bladey!"
Bladey only hugged her tighter, "I missed you when you were in the hospital!"
Barf Bag was glad to be reunited with Bladey again, "I missed you to sweetheart."
Bladey was quick to notice that while she the babies were no longer inside her, her belly was still as big as it was. So, being too unfiltered two year old that she was, she decided it was important for Barf Bag to know. "Auntie Barf Bag, why is your tummy still big! You don't have the babies in there anymore."
Barf Bag chuckled at Bladey's innocence, "It took months for my belly to make so much room for the babies, now it's going to take a while before it shrinks back to normal."
Bladey laughed, "Well, then you better get used to it!"
Barf Bag laughed to keep the mood afloat, "I already have, Bladey! Now, I think your mommy needs some help downstairs, maybe you should head down now!
Bladey nodded, "Okay, see you soon auntie Barf Bag!"
While Barf Bag knew that Bladey was just being a two year old, she couldn't help but feel...uncomfortable when looking at her stomach. If someone as young and as innocent as Bladey was able to notice her postpartum belly, then who knows how many people were looking at it, making comments and assumptions behind her back.
Donut, noticing her pensive mood, walked over and gently placed his hands on her shoulders. "Hey," he said softly. "What's on your mind?"
Barf Bag shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. "Just... adjusting," she admitted. "Bladey's comment got to me a bit."
Donut shook his head, "She didn't mean it like that Barfy. She's two for bakery's sake!"
Barf Bag sighed, "But still. Between that and the giant scar I have across it...it's just...I don't even know anymore!"
Donut pulled her into a comforting embrace. "I know it's tough, Barf Bag. But remember, your body did something amazing. It brought our boys into this world. That scar, that belly, they're signs that your a warrior Barfy. You should be proud of them."
Barf Bag smiled faintly, "I guess so...I just didn't think it would hit me like this."
Donut couldn't relate to Barf Bag, but tried to be supportive as he could, "Maybe you just need a break for now. Go into our room and just relax for a little bit."
Barf Bag hesitated, but then realized that she needed some time to herself, "I will. If you need me, you know where I am."
Barf Bag headed to her room, tears starting to form in her eyes. It was one thing when I was pregnant. Now I just look like a fat slob, she thought to herself.
Barf Bag got out her phone and decided to talk things out with one of her colleagues, who had just had a baby on her own a couple of months ago, thinking that it would be good to have someone to relate to.
