Raphaels pov

I can't believe myself. I've kept myself cooped up in the hotel over some Shadowhunter. Ridiculous.

I'm Raphael Santiago, I don't need anyone. Is what I tell myself in the mirror.

I straighten my suit jacket and look over my outfit. Amazing suit choice as always. Magnus had basically demanded I come to the pandemonium. Apparently locking yourself in a hotel for 2 months is 'antisocial' and 'damaging behaviour'.

But I guess that's what happens when you meet (Y/N). They flipped my whole world upside down. Despite the fact their dating Jace Herondale. The name makes me tense.

A cocky Shadowhunter with no sense, fashion, or intelligence. All he is is hot, and even that's a stretch.

"Ready to go?" Lily pops her head in the door. I nod and we start to head out "I'm glad you're coming out, clubbings not the same without you."

"We all know it's not a party till I'm there," I smirk. I missed this. Me, Lily, and a couple other vamps going out.

We didn't do it regularly but when we did it was always a fun time. I just hope we don't bump into any trouble. *couch*shadowhunters*cough*cough.

Magnus told me to report to him when I got there but the fact he thinks he can make me do anything is funny. Instead, I settle for kicking some seelies off a private table for me and my companions.

While half the groups away dancing and the others are getting drinks I sit at the table with Lily. "Raphael." I lazily look over to the warlock approaching us "Glad to see you out of your cage." I give him a look but he remains unfazed "As annoying as always I see" he hums. "Can you excuse us, Lillian?"

Lily rolls her eyes but leaves as I make a gesture. Magnus sits. "I don't recall inviting you to join me." I purse my lips.

He hums "My club young Raphael. How are you holding up?" He turns serious. I raise an eyebrow to which he rolls his eyes "I know what happened Raphael. You disappeared with (Y/N) and lock yourself in the hotel the next day."

I tense at their name. "I'm fine." I give him the biggest, fakest smile I can. "Now if you don't mind I came out to enjoy my evening but instead I'm now wanting to gouge my eyes our"

He rolled his makeup crusted eyes "Look on the bright side, at least now-"

"I'm not exactly Mr Brightside, am I? Never have been"

"Raphael, i-"

I cut him off, saying "Why would I want love advice from someone whose lusting after a child whose mummy will eventually come back to collect him? How is Alex or whatever his name is?" I smirk as he glares.

"You know, sometimes people are trying to help. You don't need to such a brat"

Magnus stood to leave "But its so fun" I called after him.

Of course, I think as I see the shadowhunters spill into the club and the downworlders part like the great sea around them. And of course, it's (Y/N) in the middle of them, laughing with his arm around her waist.

They glance over the club, their eyes settling on me, and their laughter stops. Before we wouldn't have looked twice at each other. All because of a kiss.

"What happened between you two?" Lily asked, sipping on her bloody mary.

I shake my head "A kiss. One stupid fucking kiss" I mutter. She raised her eyebrows at me. I sigh "We were drunk at one of Magnus's private parties. I'd met them a few times and there the only half decent Shadowhunter. We started making out and then we stopped. I don't even know what happened. Later that night I couldn't find them and the redhead tells me they've gone back home with Jace." I swirl my drink and chuckle "Because of course, it was Herondale."

As the night drags on and sunrise gets closer I just want to go back to the dummort. I walk outside when I see them. Standing, waiting for a cab, making it clear why they were leaving.

Their hands on his chest, his on their hips. Clear as night.

My stomach drops and I feel ill. My head was already pounding but the sight makes it worse.

They look up and glance at me. Their face twists but as Jace goes to look I speed away. I run till I'm back at the dumort. I stand in front of my dressing, holding onto it.

Images of him taking off their clothes and (Y/N) not stopping it fill my mind. I know it's in my head but I know its reality.

I went out too soon.

I never get this worked up over anyone, especially a Shadowhunter. It all started months ago.

The clave was butting their nose in where it didn't belong and setting up what seemed like constant meetings with downworlders and inspecting the hotel. There was always an excuse; we need to make sure the blood isn't mundane, some werewolves have been complaining, their's rumours...

And since Camille is never around I was always the one they met with. After a while we kept the doors locked shut.

So the clave set up an envoy to the hotel. (Y/N) (Y/L/N). A young shadow hunter I didn't hate. They were one of the few I didn't completely hate when they visited.

I'd agreed to have them as the envoy and would only open the doors if they were there. But they've not been here since we kissed. Maybe the clave gave up or maybe they just didn't come. Only (Y/N) knows.

The next day I'm wakened up by Lily shaking me "Get up!" she hisses.

"Why are you in my room?" I glare.

"Theirs some Shadowhunter demanding to be let in." With a huff I get up, knowing they'd not leave.

I sped change once Lily leaves. I don't care too much about my appearance since I know I look good either way.

A Shadowhunter, dressed in all black, arms crossed, weapons on their belt stands in the middle of the lobby. They don't hear my footsteps so only turn when I clear my throat. "What does the clave want now?" I ask coldly.

"From you? Nothing." (Y/N) said.

"Then why are you in my hotel? I have a clan to run."

They sigh "You know why I'm here Rapha." They cross their arms and I glare at the nickname "we need to talk."

"Talk about what?" I ask coldly "It's not like we're friends." They seem to flinch at my words. "Or is their trouble in paradise."

"You're insufferable."

"Then why are you here?" I counter.

(Y/N) groans "Why did I even think this was a good idea? Clearly, you've not matured since you were turned."

"This meeting has been redundant. Please run home to Jace."

They let out a bitter chuckle "So you're jealous." They walk closer but I stand my ground "Is that why you sped away last night" I swallow thickly.

"Get out my hotel." I go to speed away.

Your pov.

I sigh as he goes. Lily is quickly there to escort me out the hotel, closing the door with a thud. I lean against the wall of the hotel, knowing the sun means they won't bother me. I only started seeing Jace to make him jealous.

Yeah, Jace is hot so its not actually a bad situation but I like him. I'm in too deep with Jace to tell him that.

All most on cue my phone rings. "Hello?"

"Hey babe," Jace says and I screw my eyes closed "wanna go get lunch?"

"Yeah sure."

"You ok?" He asks "You sound upset."

"Just some downworlder was being a hassle. No biggie." I brush it off.

"Cool, see you in 10 at Taki's?"

"Yeah. See ya." I hang up and my eyes glaze over.

I screw them up and a tear falls down my face. I harshly wipe it away. "Shadow hunters don't cry," I mutter. "And they don't get hooked on downworlders. Look on the Brightside." At this point, I'm just trying to convince myself. If anyone saw me they'd think I'd went crazy talking to myself. "Be Mr/s brightside."
