Chapter Fourteen

Remus woke up to the other three boys, who were half asleep around him. 

He grimaced as he tried to stand up. James opened his eyes, yawning. 

"We- we're late to Potions.", Remus winced, trying to stand. 

"You're not going to any classes today", James said gently

"Did I keep you up?", Remus said, protesting as James lead him back to his bed. 

"No big deal.", James said nonchalantly. 

"You don't have to join me, this moon seems bad.", Remus tried. 

"Nice try, you can't get rid of us that easy.", James smirked. 

"Here, drink up.", said Sirius, who had also woken up. 

"What's this?", Remus asked. 

"You gave us quite a scare last night, Moony.", Peter yawned. 

"What happened?", Remus asked. 

"You were aching everywhere and you coughed up some blood.", Sirius shuddered.

Remus took the potion silently, sipping it. He held his hand over his mouth, his face turning a sickly shade of green, but swallowed. "I can go to class.", Remus insisted. 

"I don't think that's the best idea.", Peter said.

Lily came into the dorm to check on Remus occasionally, dropping off her notes. 

Sirius stared at Remus, who was peacefully asleep, the sun hitting his face. His face looked sunkissed, tanner than usual, his scars standing out more than usual. 

Sirius resisted the urge to go and kiss him on his soft, pink lips. 

"Hey, Remus.", Sirius said softly, shaking him. 

"It's time for the potion.". Remus stirred, taking the potion. 

"Moony, you okay?", James asked, walking over.

"I feel a lot better-- thank you guys.", Remus said gratefully. 

"You know, I think you lot were the first people who I told. I told you and you thought I was cool. A werewolf. Cool.", Remus snorted. 

"We were eleven years old, Moony, I thought everything was cool.", James snorted. 

"Are you saying I'm not cool?", Remus asked, mock offended. 

"Yes, yes I am, you nerd.", James laughed. 

"Dumb jock.", Remus shoved playfully. 

a few minutes later

The four boys headed to the shack, Remus feeling a lot better than he had before. 

"Don't worry, Moony, we're always here with you.", Peter said, sensing his worry. 

"Thanks, Worm.", Remus smiled at him.
