Day 25 of CountDown to Christmas

Christmas Dinner at the in-laws. That was what was happening this year. To be fair though you quite like your in-laws so it's not that bad spending Christmas with them. You were lucky with your in-laws and you knew that. You were actually quite thankful for them. Your kids also get to see one side of their family and spend time with their cousins, grandparents and all that. You'll go and see your family in a couple of days so you'll still see them. The two of you have always decided to alternate who you'll see on Christmas Day never having enough time to visit both sets of parents on the same day.

"How are you?" Marco's mother asked you when walked into her house. Everyone was going to hers and she was the one that was cooking the Christmas dinner this year which you were thankful for because you weren't really in the middle to cook it yourself. Marco had already walked away to go and see the rest of his family which were here. So you stayed to talk to his mother for a bit.

"I'm alright. Glad that we've finally got some time to relax," You said. His mother nodded in understanding and the two of you continued to talk as the food was cooking. You liked Marco's mother. She always knew what to say and it was just so easy to talk to her. You also enjoyed talking to Marco's sisters but you knew that right now they would be all over Oskar and as harsh as it sounds you finally get some sort of break from the children. They can be hard work sometimes. Yes, you're including Marco in the children part of that sentence. Sometimes it's like you have 4 kids and not 3.

"Go and check on Marco would you darling I don't want him to break another window," his mother told you. She was talking about two years ago, last time you were here on Christmas Day, Marco was playing football with the kids and accidentally broke a window. Yes, he did pay for it but still, he broke a window.

"Will do," you laughed. It wasn't that nice of weather outside but it wasn't raining and that was good enough for everyone to go outside and play a bit of football.

When you stepped outside in the cold you saw Oskar with Marco's sister wrapped up warm making sure that he wasn't cold at all. There was a fire lit by them as well so at least that would keep him warm. You saw your other two children, Johanna and Markus, playing football with Marco, the other kids and a couple of adults. He was definitely going easy on them. Marco took a glance at you and smiled when he saw you watching instantly he decided to show off by doing a bunch of tricks (you had to hope that he wouldn't injure himself knowing that he could easily) before passing the ball to Markus and walking off. He told them to continue to play whilst he jogged over to talk to you. Well, you thought he wanted to talk to you. He placed his hand on your cheek before leaning in to kiss you. It wasn't like a short, soft, innocent kiss; it was eager, fierce and heated. A kiss that is usually reserved for just the two of you but now it was in front of all of his family members. You couldn't find it within yourself to pull away. Well you couldn't find it within yourself to pull away but you ended up doing so and the both of you just stared at each other.

"There are children here," Melanie shouted at the two of you. Neither of you looked at her though and Marco just put up his middle finger and kissed you again. This time though the kiss was delicate, loving and innocent. It was sweet. This time you only broke apart when you heard your daughter's voice.

"Daddy come play," Johanna said, trying to pull Marco back into the game with her. She was softly pulling on his top hoping that would get him to move. Marco looked at you before turning around and kneeling so he was eye level with her before speaking.

"In a minute Mäuschen," Marco said to her. She nodded and ran back off to the grass to continue playing. As you watched her run off Marco had stood up and turned to face you again. He opened his mouth to ask you why you were standing by the door but before he could you cut him off.
