You were pretty childish, per se.

For someone regarded as one of the best commanders in the Marine forces, also one of the youngest at only eighteen, you were pretty young at heart. In the way that everything would make you laugh, everything was a joke and you never failed to make someone's day. Even the superiors who were so unmoving and dull couldn't help but smile a little or just feel a little lighter whenever you were around.
From when you would hand out simple "hello"s and cheery "good morning"s, to joking around and spending time with someone else: you always brought such joy wherever you went.

On top of that, you were also one of the most skilled Marines in New Marineford. Your diligence towards requests and work was unmatched and your attitude towards combat was off the charts. Even someone as unimpressionable as Fleet Admiral Sakazuki couldn't help but feel impressed by the things you had achieved. Yet, all of that wasn't to take away from the fact you liked your fun and you were still young.

That was exactly why you were such good friends with both Coby and Helmeppo.

It was nice knowing there were people around your age to talk to. Although Helmeppo and Coby found you a bit much at times, they still didn't mind you being around. Of course, you would try to spend as much time as possible with them. Why, you might ask?

You had a childish crush on the Captain Coby.

Coby was a busy man. Even if you and him were the same age, he was still a rank higher and had his responsibilities concerning SWORD. But the more time that you spent with him, the more reluctant you were to leave his side. You loved the way he always got flustered so easily, the way his cheeks would begin to blend with his strawberry hair when you complimented him or maybe even got a little too close. You loved how conscientious he was about his work, always getting everything done - and you admired him greatly for that. He was kind, he was caring and he was definitely cute. There wasn't anything about him which you didn't like, he was just such a genuine and lovable person that it was hard not to like him.

Oh, and Helmeppo definitely knew your situation.

There was one time when you had just left the small office which Coby had been given after his promotion and you had just gotten a few steps down the corridor when a hand made contact with your shoulder. You had turned to see Helmeppo, a small smile on his face as he scratched his cheek awkwardly. Honestly, you weren't surprised when he told you that he worked out you had a crush on Coby. Helmeppo was definitely way more observant than he let on, you didn't doubt it. You also had no issue with him knowing, your secret was safe with him. Even if sometimes he did shout at you down a hallway when you took one too many snacks off of his desk.

"Hey, (y/n)."

Looking up from where you sat, you saw Helmeppo motioning to one of the mini fridges next to your chair. With a smile, you opened the door and chucked him a water bottle.

"Thanks."

"No prob!"

You were in one of the lounges.

Across headquarters, there were about five different lounges. You were with Helmeppo after asking him as well as Coby to come join you, considering you had finished work for the day. Coby was late - not that it was his fault at all. He was busy, and had just gotten back after being out all day on duty, so he couldn't help being late. Sitting on a sofa opposite you was Helmeppo, yourself on a large armchair which was way too big for you. Usually it was the chair Garp liked to sit in when he had his free time, and the man was extremely tall.

"So, how's yano..."

Even when Helmeppo was wearing a visor, you could see how his eyebrows lifted as he looked right at you; teasing smirk on his features.
