while walking around town, you had walked past an arcade but decided to turn around and go in. you went around a played a few games, expect you lost almost every game besides one that gave you some cheap candy.

you went to a claw machine and saw cute plushies inside the machine. you immediately became determined to win at least one of the plushies and fed a few coins into the machine.

however, you lost a few times. on the next round, the claw had picked up the plushie you were targeting, but the plushie dropped after the claw started moving towards the drop zone.

"my plushie..." you pouted and put more money into the machine. you moved the joystick and hovered over the plushie. then, you pressed the down button for the claw to go down.

the claw grabbed the plushie and started rising, but once again, the plushie dropped back into the pit of plushies.

you groaned in frustration and looked over to see a guy next to you playing the claw machine with the same plushies inside. you watched as the guy moved the joystick before pressing a button. the claw moved down to grab the plushie. the claw moved back up and traveled to the drop zone and opened. then, the plushie dropped into the drop zone.

okay, i got this. i can do this.

you mentally hyped yourself up again and put more money into the claw machine. you started moving the joystick so the claw would hover over one of the cute plushies. then, you pressed the button, and the claw opened and moved down. the claw closed on the plushie and started going up, but the plushie fell back into the pit again.

your shoulders slumped, and you decided to admit your defeat against the machine since you had been standing there for at least twenty minutes.

"uh, hey. you can have this," you heard the guy who was at the next machine speak.

"huh?" you looked over and saw the guy holding his plushie out to you.

"you can have this. i think you would like it more than me," he said with a smile, "take it."

"are you sure?" you asked him.

the guy nodded, "yea. take it." he put the plushie into your hands, "a super cute girl deserves a super cute plushie."

"oh, thank you," you smiled and looked at the plushie. "this is really nice of you. i feel bad for taking it since you won it," you admitted to him.

"don't worry about it. i just wanted to play some games, and i don't really care about the prizes too much unless if someone's struggling like you," he said, making both of you laugh. "my name is hendery," he introduced himself.

"i'm y/n," you introduced yourself.

"wanna go order a snack and maybe we try to win some more plushies?" he asked, "i would love some company right now."

you smiled and nodded, "hopefully we can get more plushies with the two of us trying."

he chuckled, "for you? i'll try my best."
