Sorry I havent updated in a while, hope you're all doing OK :)

Kenny shifted his weight from foot to foot impatiently, his eyes focused on the clock as he listened to the drawn out ticking noises, waiting for his shift to finally be over. Only three more minutes of being stuck in the disgustingly hot kitchen, three more minutes of the greasy smell of fried foods and oil filling his lungs. " Come onnnn...." He muttered under his breath to himself, trying to will the hands to move faster with the power of his mind. " McCormick! Tables. Now!" His manager yelled at him, sending a blush to his cheeks due to the embarrassment of being caught slacking off. He nodded quickly, racing out of the kitchen and grabbing the customers order on the way out, heading directly for their table." AND NO RUNNING!" The manager yelled after him, making him feel even more guilty as he slowed to a hurried walk. " Your.. Your order.. Is here" Kenny panted, smiling to the table he was serving as he felt the eyes of his manager burning holes in the back of his head. Suddenly his heart dropped, realising that in front of him sat three of his best friends, the three who he had blown off plans with this evening, and they were all smirking at him like they had something along the lines of revenge planned. " Oh uh.. Hey you guys. Sorry again about tonight" Kenny scratched his neck nervously. He had told them that the reason he couldn't hang out with them was due to work, which wasn't entirely false, although what he hadn't mentioned was the fact that his shift today ended an hour earlier than usual. It wasn't that he wanted to cancel on his friends, far from it, but he had something else planned that he wasn't ready to tell the others about yet that overlapped. " Oh it's peeeerfectly fine Kennnneeeeeehhh" Cartman smiled, his tone clearly indicating that although he wasn't offended, he was going to take any opportunity he was given to mess with his friend. " Guys I really have to-" He began, trying to walk back to the kitchen before a firm grip on his arm stopped him. " Now now Kenny" Cartman tutted, pointing at Stan who was grinning widely, and Kenny realised in horror, that despite it not being his birthday, he was wearing a large, very obvious birthday badge. " Guys please I don't have ti-" Kenny pleaded, interrupted by a gasp of mock offence from Stan. " It's my birthday Kenny! I thought you had to sing to customers on their birthdays! And. Dance." Stan smirked, adding emphasis on the last two words. " Yea come on Ken, your boss is watching!" Kyle chimed in, Kenny turning his head to see that he was right. Kenny groaned, knowing that his shift was over now and he had somewhere very important to be. He half heartedly sung the song under his breath, trying to get this over with as quickly as possible before an annoyed noise from Cartman stopped him. " AY! Do it properly!" He demanded. 'The quicker I do this the quicker I can leave' He told himself, forcing a smile as he began the cutesy dance that he had been, for some reason, made to learn for this job. As he sung the song, he drew eyes from other customers, who smiled and clapped as he danced. He was used to performing this to mainly small children, sometimes teenage girls and boys who found him cute and on a few occasions, large middle aged men whose friends or family had tried to embarrass. He finished the dance with a pose, his expression quickly changing to a scowl as his friends clapped for him and he raced back towards the kitchen. He threw his apron onto its hanger and grabbed his coat, quickly announcing that he was leaving before sprinting out of the staff exit. He smelt his clothes, grimacing as the smell of fried food mixed with a faint hint of his own sweat hit him. He needed to get home, get dressed and shower. He looked at his watch, internally cursing his friends when he realised that he was supposed to be ready by now. He didn't bother with his front door, knowing that going through it would only end in him crashing headfirst into a very drunk mother who would undoubtably force an entire monologue onto him, taking even more time away from his evening. He leapt through his window, grateful that he had gotten his clothes ready the night before as he grabbed them, heading for the shower. He considered texting Butters that he was running late, but decided that if he showered fast enough he wouldn't have to be. He jumped in the shower, shivering at the cold water as he tried his best to clean off the various smells clinging to him. When he had finished, he glanced at the empty towel rack, groaning as he facepalmed. He had forgotten to buy more towels today after his little racoon friend had completely shredded the last set. He opted on shaking himself like a dog instead, water droplets flying everywhere as he rushed to get his clothes on. He ran his fingers through his hair, hoping that the walk to the park would dry it completely so that he didn't arrive to what was supposed to be a semi formal event, looking like a drowned rat. He took a deep breath, looking at himself in the bathroom mirror that he had spent all last night practicing pick up lines in, and smiled. Tonight was going to be good, no matter what. He checked the time again, rushing to Karen's room. He knocked on the door, opening it and frowning when he didn't see his sister inside. Suddenly a tiny girl tackled him to the floor in a surprise hug, making him giggle as he admitted defeat. " OK ok you win kit kat" Kenny laughed as Karen triumphantly stood up in front of him, offering him a hand to help him up. " Just wanted to check on you before I left" He smiled, ruffling his sisters hair, happy to see that she was her usual goofy self. Karen gasped suddenly, glancing at her clock before pushing Kenny out of her room. " YOURE GONNA BE LATE!" She yelped. " But I-" Kenny began. " Go, now! Don't keep Leo waiting! How will he ever be my brother in law if you show up late to your dates!" Karen complained impatiently, making Kenny laugh, a slight blush dusting over his nose at the idea of marriage. " OK ok, I'm going, bye Karebear, dinners in the fridge" Kenny smiled, jumping out of the window and sprinting towards the park. He looked at his watch, a nervous noise slipping from his throat as he realised he was going to arrive a little later than he had hoped. When he finally made it to the park he leant his hands on his knees, doubling over as he caught his breath. He ran his fingers through his hair, which was still slightly damp, but he figured it was now dry enough to pass as hair gel. It was dark out, and the stars looked pretty in the sky. He looked towards the moon, eyes softening when he noticed a figure sitting on the grass. Suddenly, the beauty of the night sky was irrelevant as his eyes fell upon the boy, his blonde hair catching the light of the moon in such a way that it almost looked like he himself was glowing. Kenny felt himself approaching the boy, his feet moving on their own. He looked so peaceful, sitting comfortably on the picnic blanket, a basket next to him as he gazed up into the sky. It almost seemed a shame to disturb him. " Hey Buttercup, sorry I'm late" Kenny apologised softly, so as not to startle the boy. Leo turned his head to face him, a wide smile on his face that made his eyes that were encased behind his new glasses crinkle adorably. " Aww gee, its alright Ken, I haven't been waiting long anyways" He chuckled happily, turning around fully to face his friend and patting the spot on the blanket in front off him. He had recently gotten tested at the opticians, and at first had been insecure about the new facial accessory, but after millions of compliments and seeing Kennys heart melt when he saw them on, he had decided that they weren't that bad. Kenny sat down, grateful for the relief of his weight on his legs that he had been using to sprint far too much this evening. Butters reached a hand up to Kennys hair, running his fingers through it with an amused expression. " Why is your hair wet?" He chuckled, making Kenny turn pink as he looked away in embarrassment. " It didn't have time to dry yet, I showered like.. Ten minutes ago." He admitted, making Butters smile, shaking his head. " Long day?" He asked thoughtfully, Kenny meeting his eyes with an expression that told Butters that he didn't know the half of it. " I tried to get off early, but the guys came and made me do that stupid dance and... Ugh" Kenny groaned. " I really am sorry for being late though. It was my fault." He apologised again, Butters looking at him sympathetically. " It's really OK Ken. Like I said, I havent been waiting long, plus, it isn't your fault that you have responsibilities to deal with. And besides, I would wait a million years for even one second alone with you" Butters said, the unexpected smoothness leaving Kenny flustered and open mouthed. As the realisation of what he had just said hit him, Butters turned red, looking down at his hands nervously as he fidgeted with his knuckles. Kenny smiled, taking the boys hands into his own, their eyes meeting as he gently stroked his thumbs along the skin. Sometimes Butters would just say what he felt, unfiltered and honest words flowing out before he even realised that they were being spoken out loud. " That was very cheesy of you Leo" Kenny teased, making the boy pout. " 's true though" Butters mumbled in a weak attempt to counter the tease. " Mhm... Well, I would wait a billion" Kenny smiled, making Leo giggle. " No you wouldn't, you eat hotpockets cold because you can't wait for the microwave to finish." Leo argued. " Uh, untrue! I just prefer them cold" Kenny lied, making Leo nod sarcastically. " Plus, you're a lot more worth waiting for than hot pockets" Kenny defended. When Leo smirked back at him with a raised eyebrow and smug expression, convinced he had won, Kenny narrowed his eyes. " On the other hand, I won't have to wait if I just keep you here forever!" He grinned mischievously, pouncing on his friend who yelped in surprise. " Kenny get off! Youre going to crush me!" Butters laughed, the fall knocking off his glasses as he lightly pushed at the boy on top off him, who opted on sitting instead on his elbows, not moving from his position above Leo. The pair smiled, looking at each other. " Your eyes are really pretty in this light, butterfly" Kenny said softly, entranced by the way that the moon brought out the icy blue in his boyfriends eyes. " Well your eyes are pretty in every light" Butters flirted back, making Kenny scoff. " Nah, they're just like.. Like little grey balls. Yours are like fucking diamonds" He said. " Your eyes are pretty because they're yours. And I'm so lucky that they look at me" Butters smiled, Kenny reaching a hand down to stroke his cheek gently. A loud rumble from Kennys stomach pulled them out of their trance, laughing at themselves as they sat up, Leo reaching for the basket that he had brought. " Sorry, I nearly forgot, I made us dinner" Butters grinned, taking out the two plates he had packed, along with forks, cups, a bottle of some sort of fizzy drink and a large container. " Its not much, I'm not as good of a chef as you, and I knew nothing would keep warm for long enough so I n... Needed something cold and I uh" Butters began nervously, a hand on his cheek pulling him out of his thoughts. " Hey, anything you make for me I love. I'm sure whatever it is will be amazing." Kenny assured him, making him smile. He opened the container, revealing a homemade pasta salad, each peice of meat and vegetable cut into messy but recognisable love heart shapes. Kenny felt his heart melt at the gesture, wanting nothing more than to marry his boyfriend right there. " I love you... So fucking much" Kenny smiled genuinely, making Leo blush. " Yea yea, taste it first and then tell me if you feel the same" He joked. Leo served the pasta onto their plates, Kenny hungrily grabbing his fork and digging in. He groaned happily at the taste, the fact that his boyfriend had made it specially for him making it the best meal he had tasted in his life. " soo.. Gooddd" He mumbled blissfully between mouthfuls, Butters proudly eating his own serving as he watched how happy his cooking was making Kenny. " You should teach me how to cook properly. Then I could cook for you all of the time" Butters added absentmindedly, Kenny nodding enthusiastically at the idea. Spending more time with his boyfriend, eating delicious homemade food, seeing the proud expression on Leo's face when he made something tasty. There were no negatives to the situation. " Maybe this weekend we can bake Karens birthday cake together. It's not a gourmet meal but, we'll work our way up to it" Kenny grinned. " Sounds like a deal" Butters smiled, craning his neck upwards to kiss his boyfriend on the nose.
