Bunny - It means a lot

Kenny sat on the curb with his head in his hands. What was the point in any of this?  He thought to himself.  None of his friends remembered when he died, but he doubted they'd care even if they did. His parents were always drunk,  his brother was missing and he lived in a house with holes in the roof and walls. Not to mention his severe malnutrition,  he thought hopelessly as his stomach growled angrily on cue. Kenny was so lost in his thoughts he didnt hear the footsteps skipping up to him,  and he jumped in shock when the person tripped over him. " AGH! " A small high pitched voice screamed,  as a short boy tumbled to the ground.  " IM SO SORRY MR I WAS CHASING A BUTTERFLY I DIDNT SE... Kenny? " Butters apologized quickly,  standing up and dusting himself off. " Hey Leo" Kenny smiled,  the feeling foreign on his face. Butters offered him a hand up,  which he gladly accepted. "What are you doing sitting on the street silly! " Butters giggled,  standing on tip toes to ruffle the taller boys hair. Kenny's thoughts immediately melted away with Butters touch,  and he suddenly felt not so alone. Kenny grinned at the shorter boy,  showing his dimples andd crooked teeth. " Do you wanna come chase butterflies with me? " Leo asked happily. " Simple,  pointless and stupid...  Count me in" Kenny laughed,  blushing when Butters grabbed his hand and pulled him along the path. " Come on it went this way! " He said enthusiastically,  making Kenny grin like an idiot. " Is that it? " Kenny said,  pointing at a bright blue butterfly perched delicately on a bench. " Leo stopped suddenly,  making Kenny crash into his back,  nearly knocking them both over. The pair looked over to the bug,  then Kenny looked to Butters for a reaction.  His huge blue eyes were wide and sparkling,  and he held a finger up to signal for Kenny to remain still. He had a smile plastered on his face that stretched to his ears as he watched the deep blue wings open slowly. Kenny sighed happily,  admiring the bubbly boy,  his thoughts from earlier completely forgotten. He watched as the butterfly flew from the bench to Butters nose,  and laughed when it flew off,  tickling Leo and making him scrunch up his face. " Thank you for helping me find it ken!  That was amazing! "Butters said appreciatively,  before wrapping his arms around Kennys neck in a warm hug. Kenny smiled happily and returned the hug,  squeezing the boy tightly and picking him up.  Butters laughed when Kenny span him around,  and when he was put down a slight pink blush spread across his nose. Kennys stomach growled loudly,  making him rub his neck nervously. " Hey Butters,  you hungry? " Kenny asked.  He only had £20 to feed him all month but he would give it all away instantly if it made his small friend smile for even a second more. " Yea I am actually,  you wanna go for a burger?  I know this place that sells the BEST lemonade! " Butters said happily. " My parents take me there all the time" " That sounds great Buttercup" Kenny replied,  his stomach secretly churning at the fact that he would probably blow all of his money and not be able to eat for at least three weeks. Butters smiled and laced their fingers together again,  skipping cheerfully to the cafe,  making Kenny giggle at the dork. " HA FAGS" Kenny heard,  making his heart drop until he saw that Craig had shouted it from across the street, the same Craig who was currently kissing his boyfriend.  " Hey Craig,  hey Tweek! " Butters happily greeted the pair,  earning a friendly flipping off from Craig and a muffled greeting from Tweek who was still being kissed. Butters giggled and continued along the path,  slower this time so that Kenny could walk next to him instead of being dragged behind. At first Kenny was disappointed that he couldnt sneakily admire the boy anymore,  but he was grateful when the warm vanilla smell that surrounded leo filled his nose. It smelled like what he imagined home would be like; comforting and safe. He never wanted to leave,  and physically winced when Butters released his hand. " We're here! " Butters said suddenly,  snapping Kenny from his thoughts. Kenny cautiously walked inside,  relieved to see only a few tables occupied. Butters ran over to a table with two chairs facing each other,  and a light pink rose in the middle. Kenny smiled joining him,  blushing as he thought about how romantic this looked. " Hmm..  What are you getting Ken?  I always order a burger but everything looks so GOOD! " Butters gushed. " I'll just get a salad and some water" Kenny said,  looking at the prices. " Kenny..  I heard your stomach,  you clearly need more than a salad..  Why are you not getting what you actually want? " Butters asked,  cocking his head to the side adorably in confusion. " I uh..  I dont have that much money - I mean..  On me like right now.. " Kenny said shamefully,  scratching at his neck. Butters frowned,  grabbing Kennys hand and lightly stroking it to comfort him. " I thought you knew that I was going to pay for you?" Butters said softly,  trying not to make it seem like he was pitying Kenny. " Butters you dont ha-" Kenny began"No I insist Ken,  you're my only real friend and I want to at least give you a meal...  I know its not much but..  Whenever I need help you're there for me and I..  I feel like I dont tell you this enough but..  It means a lot" Butters said,  looking up at Kennys icy eyes,  that were crinkled at the sides from smiling and glazed with happy tears. " Butters.. I think I need to tell you something.. " Kenny began,  before he was interrupted by a cough.  The boys broke eye contact,  to meet a young waitress,  tapping her foot impatiently. " You boys want anything ? " She asked,  smiling when she saw the adorable grin on Butters face.  " Well arent you just the cutest little thing" She said,  earning a scowl from the admittedly slightly jealous Kenny. " Well gee,  thank you miss! " Butters smiled wider,  showing his perfect teeth and making the girl blush and flirtatiously twirl a strand of her hair. " You wanna grab a drink when I finish my shift? " She smiled,  pinching his cheek.  " Uh-" Butters was about to reply before he was interrupted " Actually he's busy tonight" Kenny snapped angrily,  causing the girl to sigh and roll her eyes. " Okay then.. Raincheck? " She asked hopefully,  making Kenny snap. " Can you stop flirting with MY boyfriend please! " He scowled,  making the girl open her eyes in shock and quickly walk away.  " Uh..  Ken? " Butters asked confused.  Kenny suddenly realised what had happened and clapped a hand over his own mouth. " Im..  Sorry..  I didnt..  I should have..  I. " Kenny spluttered out,  making Butters tilt his head. " Why did you say I was your boyfriend? " Kenny sighed at this,  burying his face in his hands. " I guess I should come clean now.. " Kenny began,  his hands sweating nervously. " I uh..  I really like you Butters..  You uh...  You make me feel happy and..  safe and uh..  You always know what to say and..  You're..  Well..  You're you and..  And I think... " Kenny took a deep breath. " I think I love you.  When that girl came i got so mad and..  Im sorry I can go and explain to her-" " Kenny!" Butters said laughing.  " I was going to say no to her,  because I think..  I think I love you too. " Butters squeezed Kennys hand. Kenny looked up at him suddenly,  eyes wide with shock.  " You do? " He asked hopefully.  " Of course I do ken" Leo replied smiling,,  until their moment was broken by the loud grumble of Kennys stomach. " Oh gee,  you must be starving!  Im sorry Ken! " Butters said,  quickly looking through the menu. " So Leo,  are we like..  You know..  Boyfriends for real now? " Kenny asked.  Butters grinned,  happily shaking his head up and down in response. " Hey Ken,  now that we're booooyfriends how about we get this? " Butters asked,  turning the menu around and pointing at a huge plate of spaghetti and meatballs meant for two people to share. " It can be like Lady and the Tramp!! " He said happily,  waiting for Kenny to reply. " Sounds amazing BOYFRIEND! " Kenny said,  purposefully over using the term,  giddy that his literal dream had just come true. Butters used his cuteness to order the food,  getting extra because the employees couldnt stop awwing at him. He also ordered them both a pink lemonade,  determined to make Kenny love them as much as he did. When their order arrived,  Kenny waited for Butters to take the first bite,  desspite the hunger eating away at his stomach. He then dug in,  swirling the delicious pasta around his fork and holding back drool as he shoved sauce covered meat into his mouth. "mmmmMMMM" He happily groaned, making his new boyfriend chuckle. " Hey dont laugh" Kenny said,  laughing himself. He then found a particularily long strand of pasta,  and smirked as he snuck it onto Leo's fork.  He then put the other end in his mouth,  sucking it up and making the unaware Butters move closer to him. Butters then realised how close their faces were,  then saw the spaghetti and blushed a deep red. Kenny then closed the distance,  quickly pecking Leo on the lips making his heart flutter. Leos lips were soft against his chapped ones,  the memory lingering on them and making him want more. They both smiled happily,  continuing to eat,  their faces pink in delight. "I love you dude" Kenny said dreamily.  " I love you too" Butters smiled back.  Kenny was full,  happy,  and he didnt want to be anywhere else in the world.
