Piper's Point of View.

Once I arrive back at Alexandria, I went straight to Deanna to ask about my job as a runner. She told that Glenn, Noah, Tara and I were still runners. Told me the she knew we had quite a bit more experience with the outside world and we'd be more useful out on runs, especially when it came to walkers. I was cool with still being on the run team, as long as Aiden and his dumbass friend listens to our input every once in a while.

Exiting Deanna's house, I began to head back to our house to see Glenn. I walked along the path, looking down at my feet as I did. This resulted in my bumping into someone. Looking up, I saw a blonde woman smiling back at me.

"Sorry." I spoke, smiling slightly.

"It's okay." The woman beamed. "You must be one of Rick's group, I'm Jesse Anderson." She introduced.

"Yeah, I'm Piper." I informed.

"Oh, yeah Rick told me about you." Jesse told me.

"You've spoken to Rick?" I asked.

"Yeah, I cut his hair actually." She stated proudly.

"Ohh, well good job, he looks a whole lot better." I laughed.

"So, you coming to the welcome party tonight?" Jesse asked with a smile.

"Oh yeah, Deanna mentioned that, but I'm not gonna go, I don't have anything decent to wear to a party." I denied, kindly.

"Oh come on, you can borrow one of my dresses, I'll help you get ready." Jesse pushed, I sent a lopsided smile and shook my head. "Aww come on, this party is being thrown for you, you have to show up." Jesse persuaded.

"Fine, I'll show my face." I mumbled.

"Yay, so come to mine around three, the party starts at around five, so we can get ready and go together." Jesse beamed. "I live just down there, the fourth house down." She told me.

"Alright." I muttered.

"See ya." She smiled before waving and walking away. Letting out a deep sigh, I headed back to the house.

...........................................................

Just like I'd said, I was headed over to Jesse's house to get ready. Honestly I was not looking forward especially since Daryl probably wouldn't turn up and make things little easier. Currently, I was sat in front of Jesse's mirror as she chopped away at my hair. I wanted it shorter and she was glad to cut it for me. Once she was done, she removed the plastic sheet which was covering my chest and back before allowing me to stand up. Smiling, I played with the ends of my hair which now sat just above my shoulders.

"I love it, thanks so much Jesse." I smiled back at her.

"It's no problem really, now let's get you dressed 'cause we have to leave soon." Jesse spoke, holding out a black dress to me. "Okay, go in the bathroom and get dressed." She ordered, handing me the dress and ushering me into the bathroom. Reluctantly, I stripped off my clothes and pulled on the black dress. It was tight on top and flared out slightly at my waist and fell just above my knees. I then pulled back on my cowboy boots, which Jesse allowed me to wear to feel a little more comfortable. Slowly, I stepped out of the bathroom and looked up at Jesse to find she was now dressed too. She smiled widely up at me.

"How does it look?" I asked, shifting uncomfortably in the dress.

"It looks good!" Jesse exclaimed.

"Thanks." I spoke, smiling a little.

"Right, let's go!" Jesse beamed before me, Jesse and her family left the house.

We arrived at Deanna's house, which was now full of people. Gulping, I began to question my decision to go here. This was too many strangers than I could cope with. Suddenly feeling like I was losing oxygen, I began to back up to the door when a hand grabbed my wrist. Gasping, I looked up at Rick, who had a slightly worried/confused look on his face.

"Piper, are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, sorry, I'm just not used to in a place full of so many nice strangers, last time I was in this scenario, Daryl, Merle and I had just stumbled across the camp in Atlanta." I nervously mumbled out. Smiling slightly, Rick nodded.

"You look good, by the way." Rick spoke, making me blush slightly. "And you cut your hair."

"Well, Jesse did." I corrected with a smile.

"It looks great." He smiled, still holding onto my wrist.

"I suppose I should go a mingle." I stated, pulling my wrist from his grasp. Rick nodded as I slowly walked away, and straight over to the drinks.

................................

After about a few hours, I found myself standing out on the porch on my own. I needed to get out of the house, though I did get to talk with Glenn and Maggie, who ordered me to stay, I just couldn't. It was dark now, and there was still no sign of Daryl, not that I was surprised. Letting out a sigh, I looked out into the small town, my eyes landing on a familiar figure stood under a tree. I watched as Daryl turned and slowly walked away. Quickly, I followed after him.

"It's not nice to leave a girl all alone at a party." I called out, making Daryl stop and turn to me. I walked over at stood beside with an eyebrow raised.

"Sorry." He mumbled. "Not really my thing." He added.

"Yeah, same, but unfortunately I had a run in with Jesse who gave me this stupid dress and forced me to go." I said, looking down at my attire.

"You look nice, Pipe." Daryl spoke, placing his hand on my cheek. Blushing, I looked back up at him and smiled. "I like your hair too, it looks good short." He added with a smile. Stepping towards him, I leant up and placed a kiss on his lips. He pulled back and took my hand. "Let's head home." Daryl spoke as we began to walk.
