December 22, 1999

"Ew, I did that?!" I covered my face in embarrassment as Ville busted out laughing and told me what I did last night. "I need to go apologize to him!"

"That man was being rude," Ville told me.

"Jesus Christ."

"Did you have a couple of drinks?"

"Ville, we had a lot of drinks."

"You're right."

"I don't want to go outside anymore."

This made Ville laugh harder.

"Oh, I'm glad you're enjoying this!" I sarcastically shouted. "Are you ready to go?"

"Go where?"

"Back home. Richard's going to pick up Ashton."

"How do you know?"

"I talked to him this morning."

"Let's go! Chip chop!"

"Chip chop?"

He grabbed my hand and we ran downstairs.

"Bye, Mom," I hugged her, then Till. "Bye, Till."

"Where are you guys going?" My mom asked.

"We're leaving. My dad's going to pick up Ashton."

"Oh, okay. Have fun."

I grabbed Ashton from the high chair and we drove home, but found that there was already a car in the driveway. We pulled into the garage and saw that Richard was in the car.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"I came here to pick up Ashton. Was I too early?"

"No, it's fine," I unbuckled Ashton, then buckled him into Richard's car seat.

"Thanks for letting me hang out with him."

"Of course. What are you guys going to do?"

"I was going to maybe take him swimming."

"Do you have a floatie for him?"

"Yeah, I do. Can  he swim on his own?"

"Kind of, yeah. He's been doing really good. He can move."

"Okay, bye," He went to go get into his car, but I ran up to him and hugged him.

"You dare leave without a hug?!"

He chuckled, then let go. "Bye, Adette."

"Bye, Dad."

I watched him drive away, then I went back inside and saw that Ville was on the phone. I poured myself a glass of water and drank it, but stared at Ville.

His face was expressionless which bothered me. I wanted to know who he was talking to and what he was talking about.

"Okay, thanks," He slammed the phone shut and I jumped.

"What was that about?" I asked him.

"Nothing."

"Didn't seem like nothing."

"Well, it didn't seem like something."

I grunted at his attitude, but dropped it. If he didn't want to talk about it, he didn't want to talk about it. "So, what do you want to do today?"

"I just want to rest. I also have to pay the bills."

"Let me help."

"No. You're not working. You don't have any money."

"I have money."

"Yeah, money that Till gave you."

"What the fuck is your problem?!"

"Nothing, Adette! Stay out of my fucking business!"

He jogged upstairs and I just stared at him. What was that phone call about? Was he alright? I wanted to give him his space, so I just let him be alone.

For the rest of the day, I watched the T.V. and took a little nap. It was unhealthy, but there was nothing else to do.

"Hey, wake up," A soothing voice said.

Someone shook me gently, so I rubbed my eyes and saw Ville standing over me. He smiled as soon as he saw my eyes open.

"Good morning," He kissed the top of my forehead.

"Morning?" I jolted up, then gasped. "Ashton!"

"Is with Richard. They spent the night in a hotel."

I sighed. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I just didn't get the best news."

I hugged him. "What happened?"

"Just had an argument with our producer about the new record. We're going to record some this year."

"Well, you better hurry. You only have-"

"No, I meant next year."

"But you said this year."

"I know what I said."

"Ville?"

"Hm?"

"Can we go to our room?"

"Why?"

"Because I'm tired and want to go back to sleep."

"Sure," He picked me up bridal style and walked up to our room.

"What time do we need to get Ashton?"

"Richard's dropping him off."

"Great," I smiled and kissed him. "You excited for tomorrow?"

"Who wouldn't be?"
